Mormons believe that God procreated all spirits including Jesus, Lucifer (Satan) and yours and mine. By birth order (which they confuse with birthright) Jesus was selected to become the savior of the world and a member of the Godhead.
In contrast, the tenet of JudeoChristianity is One God revealed in Three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Mormons also believe that God was once a man (who had a God who was once a man ad infinitum), and that God acheived exaltation into Godhood by following commandments of His God's Plan of Salvation, etc., and that God also has a heavenly wife with whom he is sealed for time and all eternity, with whom he procreated all spirits in the pre-existence...and that only those who are Mormon and who live according to Mormonism will go on to the highest level of heavan called the Celestial Kingdom...and that once they achieve their exaltation into Godhood, they then have their own universe and become Gods and Goddesses. But that's another subject for another question about yet another facet of the Church of Joseph Smith of Latter Day Saints (aka: Mormons).
A good book to read is Ed Decker's "The Godmakers". A lot of information is also available online.
This is why Mormonism is considered a POLYtheistic religion, whereas true Christianity (as it's root Judaism) a MONOtheistic religion.
Hear oh Israel, the LORD your GOD is ONE.
When the Mormons come to your door offering you the Book of Mormon, it is not another testament of Jesus Christ. It's simply another Gospel of a different Jesus. And as Paul said, "But even if we or an angel from heaven preach any other Gospel than what we have preached, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8

You may have asked this question many times today, but I just entered into the room, so I will bite.
Romney is trying very hard to dodge a large bullet here, but the fact of the matter is that Mormons DO BELIEVE that Jesus and Lucifer (devil) are brothers.
The do NOT believe that Jesus is part of God and that lucifer if a created being just as the rest of the angels and yes, even us humans are.
Obama is doging his militant muslim upbringing and beliefs and Oprah is trying to write her own death warrent by supporting the very organization that would just as soon have her covered up in black or dead.
Romney is trying to dodge his very un christian beliefs and re package them as Christian.
Personally, I feel that both of these men would be far ahead to just lay the truth card on the table and let it be. The questions would stop because after the truth is told, there is no further digging that needs to or even can be done.
Truth stops rumers any day of the week.

Mormons believe that God the Father created all things, so He created both Jesus (God the Son), Lucifer (Satan), and all mankind. Jesus and Lucifer are "brothers" in the sense that God the Father created both of them. It doesn't imply any special affinity or friendship between Jesus and Lucifer. Obviously, they are on opposite sides of the whole good/evil divide.

Many people believe that that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints (aka the mormon church) is a cult. they think it's a secret society. There are many lies and garbled versions about mormons. So they really don't understand mormons. So people like to insult us or create lies, or put us down. It's really sorrowing we don't do really half the stuff people say we do.
Yes it is true we believe satan and jesus were brothers. but as a christian haven't you ever heard the term "we are all god's children"? We believe that Jesus was the son of god. Making him our brother, and also Satan's.
Here. I asked a question about the strange rumors people have heard about mormons. i got alot of crazy answers: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
Every church is different. Let's just accept each other's differences.
Happy holidays!!!

I am a former mormon...
the long version is..... mormon's believe that in the pre-existence ....before we received mortal bodies.... a council was held to decide how spirits could recieve a body and go back to heaven.
at this time we are all equal spirit brothers and sisters.... including Jesus and Lucifer...
Lucifer proposed that everyone should worship him (cumpolsorary...forced to).... and somehow everyone would make it back to paradise ....heaven..
Jesus' plan was....."let the glory be given to you; God" let man have their free-agency.....right to choose...and I will take upon me the sins of the world, and act as arbitrator...provide the Atonement (at-one-ment) for each and every person that pretty much desires it (insert alot of LDS...mormon conditions here :)..
God chose Jesus' plan....Lucifer rebeled.....God kicked Lucifer out of the pre-existence and 1/3 of the host of heaven that were followers of Lucifer's uprising....so...lucifer and the 1/3 that were exiled....never received a mortal body (an integral part in our spiritual progression)...Lucifer is now named satan....perpetually at enmity with God, and us (you and I) the "valiant ones" that lauded Christ's plan....and eschewed lucifer's plan....
this pattern is not new to spiritual constructs.....many religions espouse the notion that duality derived from harmony....
think early asian yin-yang, native american creation legends, and other aboriginal legends that delve into creationist theories.
capisce?

God created all of us, so that makes us all spirit brothers and sisters, which would include Satan and Jesus too.

If god created Satan, then Satan is god's son. Jesus is also god's son. So, therefore, they are brothers. Or not. As you like it.
