I've been where you are right now. The only thing that helped me was nutrisystem followed by sensible (backwards) eating on my own with about a 1100 to 1200 calorie total intake going heavy on the protein and light on the starches, sweets and meats.. I had breakfast when I woke up for the "day", supper at 4:00 am, and lunch before going to bed. I ate the 110 calorie dessert if I woke up during the day with some sleepytime herbal tea. I ate the no-fat yogurt or low fat cheese stick with half an apple or half a banana at break times. I think it is easier to gain weight on the night shift, and harder to lose it. But it is worth the effort.

Good luck to you on reaching your weight loss goals!

Trust me you won't keep the weight on for long. That is the absolute worse shift to work for your body , there is nothing natural about being awake while everyone else sleeps. I worked it for years , I used to come home and eat , stay up a few hours and then sleep , when I did wake up I would have a coffee and some toast like the regular folks do :)). Good luck ...

I work 1900 to 0700 and go to bed around 8 am too. I have noticed that I used to eat around 6 ish when I was at work and that was why I gained weight.

I talked to a nutritionist and this is what they recommended:

When I wake up (for me it was around 5 pm ish) Have a breakfast right away that is less carbs and higher in proteins with my daily servings of fruit...for ex, eggs and sausage or soemething meaty with apples and oj etc etc...

then my regular meal schedule

and I had to make sure to have a good dinner around 4 or 5 AM and drink plenty of water but absolutley no food three hours prior to my bed time

good luck hopefully it works for you too!
