BMI stands for Body Mass Index.

Your BMI (Body-Mass Index) is a number which is calculated based on your height and weight. The formula to figure it out is you weight in kg divided by your height in meters-squared. (kg/m2). For example, a 70-kg person who is 1.52 meters tall has a BMI of 30.3 (70/ 1.52 squared).

To convert:
1 kg = 2.2 lbs.
1 inch= 2.54 cm
1 m = 100 cm

The number you get tells you basically if you are overweight for your height. The scale is as follows. If BMI is:
<18, underweight
18-25, normal weight
25-30, overweight
30-35, Obese
>35, Morbidly obese

This system does have its limitations, though. A body-builder, for example, is very muscular, so he weighs a lot for his height. It is definitely not fat on his body, though. It's muscle. His BMI would be high even though he is very lean and muscular. For the majority of people, though, this is a fair system to use.

Well, I know the person before me told you where to find it. I just thought I would let you know, BMI isn't exactly accurate. It doesn't consider muscle. So a 6ft guy weighing 200 hundred lbs is going to be considered fat....even if he is muscle! I really wouldn't take the BMI thing too seriously, unless you are fat. I highly doubt you are, because all girls think they are fat.
