Why would you need to?
If you believe that, wonderful. Let it inspire you to love your friend unconditionally. When your friend is ready to hear that God is supreme, he'll know it. Our job as brothers and sisters in Christ is not to convince each other to see things our way. Our job is to love one another and love God. It is the Holy Spirit's job to do the convincing.
Do your job and let the Holy Spirit do His job when the time is right.

Don't speak about the subject, don't argue, don't quote Bible passages, don't leave hints, and don't mention hell.
Do: pray, act in a Christ-like manner so that your friend can see the changes your religion has brought to your life, and let your friend exercise his/her free will.
I know from experience that being preached to is not convincing in the slightest. It's irritating, and makes me want to avoid the person. Remember that quoting Bible passages is meaningless to your friend, because your friend most likely believes that the Bible is false. Arguing with your friend will give your friend a negative association with your religion.
I'm not a Christian, but I don't like seeing people lose friends over religious matters.

If god really was supreme and omnipresent, surely you'd know how to convince anyone of his existence.

What convinced you?
( I used to be convinced of that, but now I'm an atheist: in good part it was studying the bible which convinced me of the need to become such.)

All you can do is plant the seed the rst is up to the Holy Spirit. Christ never forced or "convinced" anyone to believe

lying to people is a very bad thing to do. If you must make outrageous statements be prepared to justify and prove them. If you cannot prove god exists you have no right making statements about his supremacy or anything else

Provide some evidence to back your claims up.
I assume that you have some compelling evidence to support these claims, otherwise you would not be making them.

You can't. Who are you to convince someone of something so personal? I'm glad you're not my friend.

Why do you feel you have the right to? I'm sure your friend is quite happy as they are.
