Jesus left us the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth.
John 14
25"All this I have spoken while still with you. 26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
So yes, Jesus knew there would be false teachings and false prophets.

Actually, the bible is not responsible for the sectarianism that has resulted from the Protestant Reformation. The Roman Catholic Church is. It is unlikely that such a tremendous religious "revolution" would have occurred in Europe if the pope of Martin Luther's day had not established the policy of selling indulgences. Even though another pope made this practice illegal 50 years later, by then it was too late. The Reformation was in full swing.
Certainly, the bible cannot be blamed for the extensive sectarianism of Western Christianity. The Eastern Orthodox churches have had the bible for just as long as the Western church.

Jesus must have realized the problems of a religion of a book because he saw what happened with the Torah of Judaism.
Matthew has a telling incident to relate in Chap. 12:
"Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, they asked him, 'Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?'
"He said to them, 'If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.'
"Then he said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus."
Jesus knew that religion by the book inevitably leads to puritanism, where God's love and opportunity are whittled down into sticks to beat the faithful.
Only an actual organization can develop unified interpretations of God's teaching to safeguard the faith and apply it to new situations, such as surrogate motherhood. That's why Jesus authorized the Church and gave us leaders, sacraments, and doctrines.
Too, he gave our leaders the power to bind and loose, and the promise to protect his Church against the gates of Hades.
Cheers,
Bruce

I'm sure Jesus was aware of the confusion that might abound over the Bible but I'm certain he was confident that the transparency of the truth within will quell the aspects that are irrelevant today such as not eating certain meats over God's ultimate love for us. The message of love and the walk of faith in Jesus's life encompassed the NT portion of the bible which is the last portion of it, and the best was saved for last.
The rock Jesus built on Peter is the church, whichever teaches the truth of His love.

Ok i know i am going to get yelled at but here it goes. I am LDS yes i am a morman.
God loves his children and would noever seek to confuse them. I belive the bible as it is corectly translated. Over time it has been changed from one language to another and has caused alot of confusion.
It is hard to belive that god would send prophets to guide his children, then suddenly just sotp for no reason. I bleive in a modern day prophet. I also belive that there are more tools than just the bible Including personal revilation as well as other written works of god such as the book of mormon.
Go ahead and yell at me, but personaly i belive that god didnt just stop trying after the end of the new testiment.
Does it make sense that he would..................answer of course not.

Yes, I agree. And He did make arrangements for additional witnesses, and clarification of His Gospel. That's why we have the Book of Mormon. It's purpose is to provide an additional witness to the Doctrines taught in the Bible and provide those Doctrines that were lost due to transliteration, translation errors, as well as Doctrines not understood by those who chose what to include in the Bible when it was being compiled.

The bible tells us that as a young child, Jesus was knowledable of the written word. In His ministry however, He led by example and He gave us the best advice that anyone could ever think about writing. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

After hundreds of years of apostasy, Jesus did reestablish His church, complete with prophets and continuing revelation. As prophesied it too fell away, requiring another restoration. This happened in 1830.

The law is written on our hearts. Check Romans.
Where does it say in the Bible that God deliberately tries to confuse us?

hi Lenny, I take excitement on your questioning approximately salvation. you be responsive to i'm a Roman Catholic and thank God I even have self assurance in Christ. he's our salvation in view that became explanation why He commonplace the loss of life on the pass and all that suffering. not in view that as God there became could desire to realize this however the sacrifice of Christ had to ensue the previous sacrifices of judgements and burning of animals because it was. definite, Christ is the only salvation yet we can not cease basically there. Please comprehend that once you get to be responsive to approximately Jesus, basically faith in Him isn't sufficient for salvation. As St. James tells us, "faith without deed isn't any faith in any respect". You coach your faith with the help of your deeds. Christ instructed us that a stable tree is considered as stable from its fruit. So as quickly as we are fortunate to have self assurance we could desire to do stable otherwise it would be basically words. all of us be responsive to that God is style and he's often waiting to forgive us if we coach that we are sorry. God is all effective and notably basically. He unquestionably does not punish every physique who did not ever pay attention of Him. be sure that despite faith one can have, God's commandments of love of God and neighbour are in each and every person's coronary heart and as long as one follows nicely his faith God will make stable justice on. be sure of that. we can not comprehend God's love and we can not prejudice others.
