A puppy grows into a dog. A flower seed grows to be a flower. It is the same with all life on earth. This the way God created them. Why would his creation of humans be any different? He is our father right? Are we not his offspring?
If we are God's children, then when we grow and mature will we not have the potential to someday be like him? Is this not his plan? Does he not love us?
The key word here is potential.

3- a dog isn't born into a fully matured dog it is born as a puppy. it has to grow. If we are not his literal offspring then who created us? Are we not created in the image of God?

Nobody is an exact genetic clone of their parents. Besides the mixing of genes from the mother and father, there's also genetic mutations. Ever see a two-headed frog or an albino person? That's a mutation.
Nobody in science is silly enough to think that a kangaroo can give birth to, say, a hammerhead shark--that's just a really, really lame argument by the flat-earth crowd demonstrating their ignorance of evolution. The process of speciation usually takes hundreds or thousands of generations.
Besides, why would your God create us with so much in common with Chimpanzees? We're 98% genetically alike. Humans, chimps, and gorillas don't have tails, but we have tail bones. Primates are the only mammals to see in color. Chimps have sex for social reasons, like humans. Social organization is similar. Our basic body shape is roughly the same. If your God created us, he obviously meant for us to feel some sort of kinship with chimpanzees...
Thumbs-down away, ye flat-earthers, I love it when I rattle your very constricted cages...

That is an extremely hard doctrine for people to accept; but it is solidly biblical. You have it exactly right. This is the potential of all humans, to become sons of God and be like the son of God, Jesus Christ, who is like his Father, God.
Matthew 5:9 -- Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
Luke 20:36 -- nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Romans 8:14 -- For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:19 -- For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Galatians 3:26 -- For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
The Jews know what claiming to be a son of God meant; and Jesus knew exactly what he meant:
John 10:33-36 -- The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

I am quite confident i do not bare any resemblance to my ancestors 20 generations back.
I mean yes, I have two legs, two arms, but do i have the same eye colour, hair colour, height, weight... etc?
Genetic changes occur over thousands of generations. You will not see it in your lifetime.
However, I am a carrier for a genetic change, it is called Fragile X, if I have a son, he will suffer from hereditary retardation and autism like symptoms. It has been going on for generations, however, it wasn't until this past century, that it had become so predominat. This is because in the past, women like me who had son's who were not "fit", were eliminated from the gene pool. But in this past century, we are still of value, and we can produce children, even children who are less "fit" in some people's eyes are still allowed to exist as well, and pass on their genes.
So in my family's case, all our male off spring, who would not have survived in the past, are surviving and thriving today. So the gene for Fragile X is getting stronger with each generation. I think that is a form of evolution, their gene's (brother's, sons and nephews) are definitely different from mine. It might not be the proof you are looking for.

Must be an LDS, eh? So do dogs and plants turn into gods, too. They would also be classified as "God's children" would they not? Your general argument cannot just stop at humans and be viewed as logical. If you believe in God, you should think of yourself as his pet. Does your dog turn into a human because he's your pet?

average people having midget children.... is one example .... often that's the first sign of an evolution change, different size... wether larger or smaller..... god is an illution, created by religions to control and enslave the human population.... evolution is the first of many truth of nature and it's laws..... nature's laws are the laws above humans... the closer you live by them the longer you live.... nature not god makes the laws of life on earth...

Why do you have to invent a 'supernatural' 'perfect father' when you already had a real one?
