I am always so angry at home. At school I never lose my temper or get into slanging matches etc but at home my brothers and sisters and even parents just drive me up the wall. Sometimes I just can't hold back and feel the need to hit something and scream until all the anger is out of me. But that doesn't work, because I am still angry.

Please help me control my anger without all the 1, 2, 3 counting stuff. Sometime I feel like I'm about to explode.

Thankyou.

Hey Angel, I am just imagining you are a teenager. I remember feeling the same way. I channeled the negative energy by reading and taking stuff apart. I understand it's hormones and feeling like no one there understands you. Your parents have been through this too, you might want to try talking to them about this .There are lots of things you can do but you will have to find the one that works for you . If you have no one you can talk to , maybe write your feelings on a piece of paper , let it all out and safely outside away from flammibles burn the paper. It gets better I can assure you. I an forty now and have three kids of my own. Good luck

I can relate from my upbringing. Is there much respect within your family? I am positive there is plenty of love, but is there respect? Secondarily, learn to value your family and respect them. With all that out of the way, here are some things to consider.

Make sure you get enough regular sleep. Lack of sleep or unorganized sleeping schedule causes much shorter temper. Bad diet (eating not healthy) and lack of exercise will also make it worse. Get into a sport, keep busy. Your family knows you the best, and unfortunately also know which buttons to press. Rise above it, don't be manipulated so easily. Surprise them with change and kindness.

Let me know if you need more advice!

Good luck!

I do believe it's easier to hurt the ones you love than it is to hurt strangers.

I find that I'm putting up more of a front when it comes to other's. But at home you tend to be yourself and tell it like it is.

I can't tell you how to control your anger, I can only say identify a time when you're about to explode and then take a breather. Whenever I get to walk away and catch myself and relax or think about how I'm reacting or about to react, I tend to come back and I don't always give in to the argument sometimes I come back and say, you know what, I thought about it...and I apologize however I still believe.....xxxx. I don't back down but you can control how you react.

YOU KNOW THE COUNTING WORKS......because it gives you a few seconds to control yourself, take a deep breath before you say stupid things you can regret....CONTROL is the issue......learn it....you will be a better person because of it.....Now it sounds like your hormones are out of wack, ask your Mom to take you to the Dr's for a checkup...

do you have hobbies?
music that makes you happy?
a doggy to play with?
painting? dancing? sports?

Are you angry about something at school but you're taking it out on your family because you know they love you?

Start a journal to get your feelings out.
Therapy is great too!

Don't give up. your anger will pass.
