Not a culinary genius. We received a large ham as a gift but it is not labeled to say whether or not it is fully cooked. It was vacuum sealed and the juices were clear and it's very tender. I just made some into hamsalad (cold) and had a horrible afterthought i maybe shouldnt've have done that. Come to think of it, I don't think i've ever seen a large ham before it's cooked so....? Help please, I ate some and now need to know whether I should throw up. :)

I suggest you find out from the GIVER where the ham is from. Then find out about the ham. SOME HAMS ARE NOT FULLY COOKED....just smoked and that gives it the color, flavor and firmness to the press test. First of all eating it uncooked wont kill you....make you ill...possibly. Cook it in the oven about 25 min per lb if you are uneasy about it or cant find out if it is fully cooked. NOT ALL HAMS ARE FULLY COOKED.........

no don't throw up the ham is cooked i have never found a ham that wasn't cooked, i think if it wasn't cooked it would be called pork thigh or butt or something of that sort, now you can cook it for about 4-8 hours depending on size. before doing so and on top honey and a can of coke a cola and use tooth picks to hold on pineapples and cherrys once it is cooked it has a wonderful taste. no i think it is sfe to say you ham is cooked

I was about to answer and say, "usually hams are cooked and just need to be heated or eaten cold." but come to think of it, i dont know when a ham is done either.

it's cooked, relax. The ham would be an entirely different shade of color than what you consider the norm if it were raw. If it looked like ham, tasted like ham, then it was a duck, or something like that. no need to go puke

What I would do is find out what company the ham is from, most mail ordered are cooked, unless its says its not cooked. I would take a guess and say its cooked.

the ham should be fully cooked if it's soft.
