Even though I am an atheist, I used to be Catholic, and I respect all kinds of religious people. We're all same people anyways, we just have different beliefs.

Whenever I meet new people, we get along pretty well. But as soon as I tell them that I'm an atheist, they stop contacting with me, immediately.

I know I'm an amazing person. But people dislike me just because I'm an atheist.

So Christians, what is the main reason you hate atheists so much, especially when some atheists like me don't have you back?

Well I get extra discount coupons from this "I hate Atheists" name brand website and it helps to make ends meet plus it's like shooting fish in a barrel, way easy target if you know what I mean. Well of course you do, you're an Atheist! Silly me, anyway I don't see Atheists helping out with deals on laundry detergent or apple sauce so until then you guys are the only game in town. I remember when it was the gays, saved a lot of money on canned food one winter.

You're making a blanket statement. I don't hate atheists - I'm married to an atheist who is wonderful. I don't judge people by what their religious beliefs are - I look at their character and actions.
What I do dislike is people who have a chip on their shoulder and are ready to attack anyone who has a different set of beliefs then their own.

I have nothing against atheists, and i think its a little stupid that The Christians of the world feel a need to bash on others religions (or lack there of)

in my religion we have, well we have quite a few guide lines, one of them we call the articles of faith, there are 13 articles, but the one i would like to focus on today is the 11th...

#11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

in my mind that includes atheism, you can chose to not worship deity if you so choose,

so you might say its against my religion to rag on someone for being atheist, weird eh?

well have a nice day guys gals.

I don't hate atheists.

k716 is correct. That matter is best taken up with those who treat you in such a fashion.

I am sorry that some people are missing out on knowing you as a person just because you don't share their beliefs. It's a shame.

God bless you. †

k716 gives good advice.

But my guess is you're in a Bible Belt state of the USA. Come to northern Europe. Tell someone here you're an atheist. Watch them shrug and wonder why you think they care.

I hope things get better over there.

I don't think that you being an atheist is your problem.
I'm a non-practicing Catholic who respects all religions, atheists, valid organizations and nice people.
The clue to your problem is where you said -
"I know that I'm an amazing person," - WOW!!!
I'm a twice published writer by one of the most prestigious publishers, I have three U.S. patents for viable uses,
I've traveled extensively but I don't consider myself 'amazing.'

I am not a Christian but I don't hate atheist. I hate their beliefs but not them in particular. I do my best to not be rude or hateful either. I don't have to agree to be cordial. Many atheist are hateful to religous people also. Its a two way street

The bible says to love God, self, neighbor, Brother, and enemies. Christains should not hate anyone. Jesus even says that hating someone is like commiting murder in your heart. Not cool.
Are you sure they hate you or just not interested in debating religious views?

I don't hate athiests, or anybody for that matter. The bible says to love your neighbor as yourself. I just disagree with them and find it pointless to talk to them most of the time b/c most of the ones i know are very stubborn and won't listen to my beliefs/resonings.
