It's a United Methodist Camp, it's a week long camp, and the ages are 12-14 (6th to 8th grades).

There are family groups, special interests activities, themed programs and music.

The program needs to flow through the week, with daily topics or sub-themes, and of course be age appropriate.

I'd like it to be common, maybe a play on some popular subject among the young teens today. I'd also like it to be something that may implement the youth being active in different social issues in the world...maybe...or that may be too big...

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

okay, so I assumed that since it was a CHRISTIAN camp, you would know that meant it needed to be biblically based, therefore including bible verses and bible study...

Nothing But Nets!

You can do programs on Africa, with African music. Maybe discuss apartheid, AIDS, mountain gorillas, the genocide in Rwanda, other topical issues.

You can discuss the dangers of malaria, and show how the kids can make a difference by contributing and raising money.

You can play basketball, soccer, volleyball -- any sport with a net.

For Bible study, perhaps Matthew 25.31-46 ... helping the "least of these."

You can probably come up with other ideas around this theme. And, The UMC is an official sponsor!

Lab coats (white dress shirts), call tags, tiny microscopes (greenback tree had them at one time), fake bugs w/pins and species names, a various test each week, computer virus jugs, and so on. We placed black plastic tablecloths on the partitions (coated the room) and placed up planets, stars, moon, sunlight, and so on. It replaced into the final topic we've ever used. I had my husband in a lab coat with wallet playing the absent minded professor; he could have a unusual invention each and each week that does no longer artwork. We additionally took glass jars with tubing working from one to a various. coloured waters in the jars, even some coiled copper tubing. We set up an previous pc visual demonstrate unit, mouse, and keyboard on the table with the jars to look like working scans or exams. It replaced into magnificent exciting! Make sure Bible Study is in there somewhere.

"Daniel, thou art greatly beloved."

Daniel 9: 23
"At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show thee: for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision."

When Gabriel, God's great messenger, tells you that you are greatly beloved by God, there can be no greater honor.
