Huckabee is telling the truth. I am not LDS, but I have had open conversation with those who are, and this idea of Jesus and Satan being spirit brothers is basically true. It is important to realize that Mormonism has shifted it's doctrinal focus and no longer emphasizes certain doctrines because they are so out of phase with mainstream Christianity, such as the idea that the God we now worship is really a deity that evolved from Adam. This was a teaching of Brigham Young . It cannot really be denied without jeopardizing the status of Young as a prophet, so the strategy has been to shift focus. Therefore, many modern Mormons actually have no idea that this teaching lies down at the historical roots of their religion. Traditional Christianity recoils from this idea of evolving god families and from the Jesus-and-Satan-are-brothers theories because for us, God is eternal, has always been, and always shall be, the one and only God for all possible worlds. He is not evolving. Jesus is His son in the sense of carrying His divinity fully, not in the sense of having been generated by divine procreation. That is why we object to Jesus and Satan being brothers; it confuses two different orders of being, the Creator should never be confused with the created. That is the essence of idolatry.

I know they use to teach that satan and Jesus are brothers. I have had LDS members tell me so. And the mormon church is a satanic cult. How can Jesus and satan be brothers when in John 1:3 clearly states that Jesus made all things, not God the Father?

I hope that Mr. Huckabee's intentions are not malicious, but this is the same type of tactic used by anti-mormon critics. They take a small, biblical fact that has nothing to do with our salvation, (God being our mutual creator), and twist it into something that it is not. These types of statements would lead people to believe that, in the LDS Church, we actively teach this which is misleading. We understand it, but in my many years as a member, I can't remember it ever being brought up at church, ever! It also implies that we are elevating Satan to the same status as Jesus Christ, which is also not the case. It then leads people to other incorrect ideas, albeit sincere, like your question about Mary. It encourages the concept that we are not Christians, but rather a cult, and fosters animosity and bigotry towards the LDS church.
If people would like to know what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches, there are many accurate and effective ways to find out. Here are a few suggestions:
1. www.mormon.org has a lot of basic information about the church for people who are not memebers and wish to learn a bit about our teachings.
2. www.lds.org has online scriptures, instructor manuals for our religious classes, etc. It is designed for members, but you can see that we have nothing to hide.
3. Read the Bible, the Book of Mormon and other scriptures online at http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=2b6f3c7ff44f2010VgnVCM1000001f5e340aRCRD&locale=0
We believe and follow the words that they contain.
4. Visit an LDS chapel to see for yourself. Find the nearest chapel at http://www.lds.org/basicbeliefs/meetinghouse
All are welcome to attend our services. Again, you will see that we do not have anything to hide.

Mormons believe we were all spirits before we came to this Earth to be born. So they don't believe Jesus and Satan are exactly brothers but they do believe that they're brothers in the spiritual sense.

No, Mary is not the mother of Satan. In the premortal life, we all existed together as spirit brothers and sisters of our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ and Satan were our brothers. Jesus Christ wanted to be our Savior, but so did Satan. Satan wanted to take away our agency, that every soul would be saved, and that the glory would be his. Jesus Christ wanted to be our Savior also, and His plan was for us to be proven here on earth, wether or not we would be willing to follow our Father in Heaven's commandments, and live with Him again eternally, and the glory be the Father's.

According to the bible in John 3:16 God sent his son,
Jesus was already a son of God when he came to earth.
all angels are sons of God according to Job 1:6 and 2:1.
Satan was an angel according to Ezekiel 28:11-15 so was a son of God.
What conclusion you get? this is not the book of Mormon, but the bible you have.

Mormans belive that satan and jesus are brothers in the same sense that we are all borhters. The belife is that God is are eternal father Jesus is are brother and savior and that we are all God's children. Satan was once one of are brothers who went against the plan of salvation and wanted to force everyone to follow satans plan.
So wihtout going to much into it to much. Yes the Morman belife is that Satan was once are brother.

I don't know if Mormons still believe it, but they used to. However, it's certainly not something that Mormons talk about every day, it's one of those things that people like to pull out of obscurity to beat people over the head with, as if it were the centerpiece of the religion.

That is what Mormons believe. But if they were really Christians like they try to claim then they would know that is false.

This is something that people like to throw out to scare people. LDS members believe that we all lives as spirit children of God before we came to earth. Christ was the most noble from the beginning, but just as He was, we are spiritual children on our Heavenly Father.
Lucifer was one of these spirit children, but he rebelled and was cast out along with those that followed him. Just as a parent here on earth will have children rebel, since they have choice, some of God's spiritual children did rebel.
Christ however was born of God in the flesh as well as the spirit. Thus giving Him the greater power and the ability to be our savior. I hope this makes sense. I tried to type it quickly, because I have to get out there door.
