i thought that spybot was free why is it telling me to pay?

Spybot is free. They just want donations to support the effort. They also have some paid-for products you can buy if you wish. But the pay is just a request for donations. Spybot is forever free. Ignore the credit card symbol. Good folks.

Unless something has changed recently. Spybot is free to use. They just annoy you with donation requests. Just close'em out and go on with what ever else you're looking to do.
