The serious answer is that people of African descent have larger jaw bones by nature. Teeth therefore have more room to grow into the mouth and hence, you would find gaps in between teeth than other races.

They have a condition called diastema -- too much jaw, not enough teeth. It's an evolutionary issue, it's genetic; it's nothing to be concerned about. It is no indication of someone's intelligence, brain power or anything else for that matter. It's not more remarkable than having an appendix.

I m mixed race and eventhough black people in my family do have gaps, I m pretty sure I got my gap from my white side as my grandma and dad both had a diasema so I m assuming that it s hereditary and I got it too. I ve closed it with braces now tho, hated it.

i spotted that as quickly as i became down interior the south (and of direction b4 all and sundry grills me I observed ppl who weren't black w/ gaps too). i'm black and don't have a gap between my 2 front the teeth. i'm not attempting to assert ppl interior the south have gaps between their the teeth extra advantageous than others, yet I in simple terms observed it a heck of so lots extra down there than I did the place I stay interior the mid-west, properly now east coast...

This space between teeth is called diastema. It is very common in certain races of people, as well as species of animals.

Gaps in the teeth have NOTHING to do with race or culture.
Gaps in the teeth can be from several things: missing wisdom or molar teeth, larger than average mouth width, crowding of teeth elsewhere, etc.
Several things can be done to correct this: nothing while waiting for baby teeth to come in, get a bridge to replace any missing teeth, and wearing braces to realign the teeth.

I'm mixed race and none of the white or black members of my family have gaps in our teeth. In fact, our dentist said our teeth are lovely and people would pay for them!

Because most black people are good singers and the space between the front teeth are a sign of that.
