I've used such spay-on shampoos before, mainly for clean-up at dog shows. The problem is if you hold the can inverted the propellant gas will escape. Once this gas has leaked out enough to equalize the pressure between the interior of the can and the outer environment the can will no longer spray. There's no practical solution.

You might take it back to the store and maybe they'll refund your money or give you another can.

You could try Paul Mitchell - they have a new 'Express Style' line which is aimed at getting quicker drying results (I think the product you need is called Quick Slip, around £8-10 from salon that stock Paul Mitchell). Also make sure you rough dry your hair as much as possible before blow drying. For example - towel dry, apply products, dry roughly using just fingers and dryer until 80% dry, then use a brush with the dryer to smooth a little, and finally use straighteners. Or possibly miss out the blow drying entirely! I know it sounds weird but the straighteners we use now are much more efficient and can easily straighten even the most frizzy, rough dried, hair!
