My friend became born again and says his parents are sinners because they had children out of wedlock. They have been together 31 years but never married. Doesn't make too much sense to me.

another reason why the 'teachings' of the Bible are so wonderful.... now what?... will your friend get a gun and kill them because they're not fit to live in the same house as him?..... thirty one years together is a wonderful commitment!!!!.... there's great love there... if your pal sees anything ELSE in their relationship, he's an @ss.....oh, and he's a bustard, too..... what a load of stinky brown stuff........

I got this from a website:

Along with all other kinds of sexual immorality, sex before marriage / premarital sex is repeatedly condemned in Scripture (Acts 15:20; Romans 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes abstinence before marriage. Sex before marriage is just as wrong as adultery and other forms of sexual immorality, because they all involve having sex with someone you are not married to. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations that God approves of (Hebrews 13:4).

*You can look the scriptures up on biblegateway.com. I hope this helps.

God joined Adam and Eve together and blessed their relationship. Then He told them to be fruitful and multiply. So God clearly set a precedent that man and woman are to be joined by God and then to have children.

For the record, we are all sinners in need of a savior, and having children out of wedlock does not condemn you. Dying without having believed and trusted in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the only thing that condemns a person.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
Matthew 1: 18-19

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Yes, his parents are sinners, but so is your friend.
