This cake is one and the same, just 2 different names. My best childhood friend's mom used to make it and I haven't been able to locate the recipe. I remember that it was chocolate, had pecans and caramels in it. If anyone would share their recipe, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Better Than Sex Cake

1 German chocolate or other chocolate cake, baked, 13x9x2-inch
3/4 cup fudge topping
3/4 cup caramel or butterscotch topping
3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
6 chocolate covered toffee bars
1 tub of whipped topping or 1 envelope Dream Whip, prepared with milk
PREPARATION:
Do not remove cake from pan. After the cake has cooled, make holes in the entire top of the cake using a large fork or the handle of a wooden spoon. Pour (one at a time) fudge, butterscotch, and condensed milk over the top of the cake and let each flavor soak in before adding the next. Crush 3 of the candy bars and sprinkle on the top. Frost the cake with the whipped topping and crush the 3 remaining toffee bars to decorate the top.

Really no "recipe" here involved, just rather an "assemblage" of the different parts.........

Prepare a German Chocolate (boxed cake mix) Cake in a 9X13 Pyrex pan.......remove from oven

While it's still hot, poke the entire cake with the end of a wooden spoon (not the spoon part)

Slowly pour an entire can of sweetened condenses milk over the cake......once absorbed, pour an entire jar of either butterscotch or caramel ice cream topping over that......

Decorate the cake with toasted pecans, let sit (if you can wait that long) for about an hour to let the flavors meld......Enjoy!!!

my grandmother called it Mississippi Mud cake!

The key is the topping.

Make a chocolate cake. A mix is fine.

Make a simple syrup: one cup of sugar, one cup of water. bring to a boil and let it boil until it forms a soft ball when dripped in cold water. take off of the heat. Add a package of chocolate chips, a tablespoon of butter and mix until the chocolate melts. Mix in 2 cups of powdered sugar. The icing should be smooth and pourable. If it is too thick, add some warm milk. Do not add water, because the icing will curdle.

Place the caramel candies and pecans (my grandmother used to put miniature marshmallows on it too) on the cake. pour the hot chocolate icing over the top.
