How do you determine what it is? Is there a way of testing the sensors? Would reading the codes tell you? Could water getting in the electrical connections to the speed sensors cause this. It seems to have started after my son got an under carriage wash last week.

The sensors work on magnetic pulses. The easiest way to check is to just hook up a scanner and monitor the speeds on all the wheels. Also check for incorrect tire sizes, or different sizes. If you dont have a scanner, here is what you do.

Jack up the tire. Get a mutimeter, set it to the lowest setting on Alternating current (AC) and not the DC setting as this is going to be pulses. Spin the tire and you should show a small reading everytime it goes by. You wont be able to read it, but you will see it jump.
I have not tries this with analog or cheap meters though.

The absolute first thing to do is read the ABS - TCS codes. This will hopefully tell you which wheel is having problems. If it tells you a code, go to that wheel and inpsect the wiring to the sensor. These cars had a tendency to either break the insulation or the wires to one or both of the wheel speed sensors or rub though close to the strut assembly. GM sells the whole wire harness from body harness to the wheel speed sensor and it is surprisingly cheap. Don't just replace parts, find what is doing it as electronic guesses don't usually work.
