How am I getting up on my high horse? I listed some of my favourite Irish rebel songs. Orange ******* songs are not rebel songs, they are shite songs with no meaning. Oh and I googled it and there is no song called the Sash is great.

There's a couple of people here have mentioned The Sash...what's wrong with listing that? I know it's an 'orange' song but it's still rebel none the less for that.
Are you just asking for Catholic, Republican, Nationalist songs, is that what you mean? If so can you be a bit clearer in your question please.
I find your comments quite bigoted. I certainly don't claim to be British but I do fear that some of the things you say - your cursing and bigotry quite wrong. Consider yourself reported.

Couple of tangents here...
"Thank God We're Surrounded By Water" was written, I believe, by one of the Behans (either Brendan or Dominic). Definitely not American.
What's wrong with saying that "The Sash" is a rebel song? It celebrates the defeat of the King James, King of England. Let us not forget that The Battle of the Boyne was the last time that the King of England lost his crown on a battlefield.
My favourite Irish rebel song? "Roisin Dubh"

Man, I wish I spoke Irish... I really like Niamh - though mainly because it's one of the only ones I know how to pronounce. That's only because it's more popular than the others here (Scotland) If I knew the others, I'd probably love them lol P.S: Don't like Ciara - though if it's pronounced differently than I'm thinking, then I might change my mind. Don't like Ruairi, Eoghan & Sean either lol

It's a tie between 'Glorio the Bold Fenian Men' and 'Only Our Rivers Run Free'. But either way, I prefer to think of them as historical documents now.
