The fact that humans have to believe in something greater than themselves is alarming. If humans actually woke up and realized that we will never TRULY know how we came to be, then chaos would ensue. Religion is there to control the masses by ways of fear. Those idiots thatrode planes into the WTC believed that they would ge a bunch of virgins from Allah. So Allah is a pimp??? Those attacks were sexually motivated? Evolution, if it is true, will never stop. Species would never stop evolving, and we will not see the end of the cycle. Peak oil is also around the corner!! Go Green!

There is nothing in the Bible that disproves evolution. In fact, the account of creation in Genesis tracks exactly the only way evolution could have occurred.
Whereas, the number of days that God created all creation is relative. Einstein proved that time is not fixed but is relative to the observer. Now take into account that God created both space and time, and you can see how one day could be 100 million of ours years.
God has set up a beautiful clockwork where all creation follows his rules. Evolution is no different. And a belief in evolution does not mean that an individual does not believe in God, or his divine creative power. More likely that God used evolution in his creative process.
In the end, it does not really matter how God created everything. It is more important that we acknowledge that he did.
So many people miss the forest for the trees. Evolution / Creation is not so important as is the message "There is a God and he loves you, he wants to be your friend, and he has an amazing gift for you!"

No it does not. Christianity was never founded on literal interpretation of the bible (particularly since the bible was not around the in the form it is now for the first 400 years), just as Judaism was not founded on literal interpretation. The literal intepretation only came into being about 200 years or so ago. there is nothing inconsistenet with God and Evolution, only with a particularly new way of looking at and interpretating the Bible.
What exactly do you think Christianity was founded on? It was the fulfillment of Judaism Prophecy. The modern fundamentalist view is actually against everything Christiainity was founded on. You have alot to learn about Christianity and history.

Depends on your relationship with God. If He's just an idea or a theory or a big question mark, then arguments like the ones your question points to are OK, only they don't go very far. But if you've experienced Him coming into your life as a Reality far greater than you, then it all looks very different.
A whole universe, just to make the Blue Planet? Maybe...or maybe there are other worlds with beings He has made. But we know that through all the millions of years and struggles, here we are with the miracle of life we share with plants and animals...and all of it growing with the ability to give and share love. I call that evolution.
No it's not all neat and tidy...but neither is love.
If you want a serious book, by a deep thinker who started as an atheistic philosopher, try "God, Faith and the New Millennium" by Keith Ward - he says it better than me!
Keep asking the big questions - don't settle for little answers!

I believe that the story of Genesis is a work of allegorical literature, not fact. I can observe evolution occurring in a laboratory in bacterial cells, and I can study the fossil and geological record of the Earth.
I also happen to believe in God, and I believe that Jesus existed. I don't find the ideas of Christianity and evolution at all incompatible. Remember--Genesis comes from the Old Testament; Jesus' teachings come from the New. It is the New Testament that Christians are to concentrate on.

Look you can deny evolution but it is still real. It goes against nothing Christianity was founded on. The message of Christ was Love I don't see what that has to do with evolution. God does not say how he created man only that he did. I think evolution is the only possible way.

no it doesn't Where in the bible does it say that. Evolution is a fact. There is no disproving it. The NFL is a perfect example. Look at players just 10 years ago compared to today. It's obvious. That doesn't mean that god has nothing to do with the evolution of things. How do you know that evolution isn't the tool by which god creates, maintanes and improves his little project here.

They each can exist. Your definition of Macro Evolution isn't the equal as mine. I feel the ones hyperlinks (I went to the only on Macro Evolution) don't point out an evolutionary bounce in intelligence. No fossil list can exhibit an animal gaining a moral sense like individuals have. They have feelings and will gain knowledge of however they have no idea proper from unsuitable they are able to be proficient to not do anything however they do not know that it's rather unsuitable. instance a monkey steals my bannana is it a thief? They additionally don't consider and invent like individuals. This form of Macro Evolution are not able to be verified for the reason that the brain does no longer depart a fossil list. When you uncover an animal that out of the blue has human moral sense and the capability to invent please get again to me.

It does? I think the Pope, for example, would be surprised to hear that. Most Christian groups, while believing that the world was created by God, accept scientific theories of how exactly he did this. These include Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and mainline Presbyterians, Methodists, and Lutherans. So you're saying that only the minority of conservative Evangelical Christians who hold to a strict creationist viewpoint are "true" Christians?

not really. Though we were created by God, He gave His creation means in which to adapt and survive in changing atmospheres. I believe that animals adapt to their surroundings. I do not believe that we evolved from apes or that one species can evolve from another. I guess I am not a very strong believer in evolution, however, there is strong evidence of animals changing over long periods of time in order to adapt to their surroundings. I think this is a result of the curse brought upon the earth because of sin. The earth was not originally intended to be cursed, however, once sin entered in..things began to change...man and animal no longer enjoyed the perfect paradise of God but was now doomed to live in a fallen world, cursed. This could also be a result of why we perceive that animals "evolve"...perhaps they are just cursed. It is a thought.

You have to be American right?
I'm sorry but it beggars belief that there are still some people in existance who query evolution.
I can't think of anything to say to you. I find it astounding that anyone can be so willfully blind.
I suppose christians take the myth of Adam and Eve as a parable and not an actuality and that the Big Bang was created by God.
