Is it you believe there is no God, and you life is in your hands? Is that you make your own destiny? Explaine how you can manage all the wonders of this Earth, this lifetime without devine intervention? Really, one human cannot even stop cancer from overtaking his body. One human cannot stop the ocean from spilling onto the land, one human cannot shut the sun down. So how can you explaine that you are here on Earth without God's permission?

ok, I have some of your answers. and my comment to you is I feel sorry that you go through life without the security of a father in heaven on your side. It amazes me you believe you are in control of yourself and this world. Wow. one more point. Who and where do you think the world came from? Big BangTheory? This place is so massive and well organized from the human body to the activities of an insect. You really think a man did that? Get a grip. God Bless you.

You have a few different questions in there.

for the main question,
I simply don't believe any any deity. I don't claim super powers for myself so I'm not trying to manage all the wonders of the earth, etc. I understand that it may be a very difficult concept to grasp when coming from a such very different view.

I don't feel there is anyone from which to ask permission. When I look at the evidence, I don't see anything that conclusively points to a god. The fact that we are mortal and limited does not prove a god. It just says we are natural.

For me, the most telling piece of evidence is that God could easily show everyone his existence and clear up all the religious differences. Since that never happens, I conclude that god most likely does not exist.

To be an atheist means you don't believe any gods exist. I do not believe in destiny, my life is what I make of it. I take responsibility for myself. I don't have to have a god to live a full and moral life.

"Really, one human cannot even stop cancer from overtaking his body. One human cannot stop the ocean from spilling onto the land, one human cannot shut the sun down"
So, god 'shuts the sun down' and keeps the ocean from spilling, and cures cancer, and answers prayers...Yeah, OK.

Not a very good idea to ask a question and continue by trying to answer it your self . It looks as if you are making a speech rather than asking a question.
Your question is straight forward and simple enough to answer, providing we can get a word in to answer it, or rather 'it' has now expanded into many questions?
So if you can remain focused for long enough I will attempt to answer.
An atheist is a person who does not belive in God, thats it really except that an atheist does not belive in the religions that worship this none excisting God.
That is all we atheists have in common, some belive in the 'big bang' theory and evolution.
But to me it it still just a theory, certainly a better theory than yours, which is more like a fairy tale!
I can understand lots of people have been brain washed and need comfort and dreams .
Mao Tsetung (you wouldnt like him) said "Religion is the opium of the working classes" He was correct , but your question seems to indicate you have found both????
We have religious folk who belive whatever and they do it nice and quietly , then we have fanatics.
Not many atheists try to convert folk, do you really think you are going to convert the likes of me??
Glad I managed to squeeeze a few words in here.

Atheists simply mean practice no religion serve no god...

When cancer eats the flesh, and oceans spill into the land... despite your beleif in god you then know that religion is not the answer and your god is as powerless as you are.... for nature is the authority of the earth.... Nature's greatest law is evolution and when humans reject nature nature will evolve to show it's superiority to the human race and their gods.... Atheists are safer than any religious server..

It simply means that I do not believe any gods exist.

Our lives are indeed in our own hands. We cannot do everything for ourselves but as a human community, we can take care of our needs.

I haven't noticed any gods stopping cancer or tsunamis and the sun has never been shut down.

" So how can you explaine that you are here on Earth without God's permission?"
Do you need Zeus's permission to be on Earth? How about Thor's? No? Gee I guess that I don't need your god's pwemission either...

I can explain it easily, my parents had sex, here I am. Many people have gone into remission from a mans help as far as cancer goes. I don't mean to sound cruel, but your thinking is simplistic.
