I had a near death experience. I was raging with fever, my body ached, I stood fixated before th egreat one standing at a distance. I knew if I could muster strength sufficient to reach him and lay my head on his shoulder my pain woul dbe eased and I would be free. Alas my partner reached for me, alarmed at my feverish state and pulled me abck into this world. I have never feared death post this experience. Poeple who liv eto a ripe old age, and now their spirit is about to expire, have visited their loved ones, and returned home to lay down and die. Before the spirit leaves the body, all excrement is excreted in readiness and to internally cleanse. Many ancient cultures are very familiarwith this, but the trolls and the doubting thomases all shout down anyone trying to give understanding and wisdom of the after world to the populace. Free speech for all indiscriminate of any discernable intellect or wisdom. Modernism Eh....

Not necessarily. What yu need to find out is where those wrho experience near-death get the details of the experience from. Whenever information passes through our brains, it is usually interpretted in some way. On the face of it, it may seem that such ones actually experience going to a heavenly light and see their dead loved ones. I've even heard people give details of the room in which they nearly died (tops of cupboards, et) which they should not necessarily know unless they really were lifted up out of their body and began floating around. But we have to ask where they actually got the information from or how they got it? In a universe which we know so little about and with brains which we know even less about, the answer could come from virtually anywhere.
Having said all that, the Bible does hold out the hope of a physical resurrection onto the earth, so life after death is a real hope. (John 5:28,29)

No they don't. The most common count recalled from a NDE is travelling down a tunnell with a bright light at the end. This is to do with the brain as the optic nerves cease to function (or something like that:-) ) anyway there are medical reasons for it.

there was a programme about it on the bbc many moons ago "Q.E.D" .. someone also made a very famous drum and bass tune using snippets of that programme..
it was broadcast years ago, maybe 1993 or 94 but was an interesting programme to watch.
the common thing is you see a tunnel with a bright light or you are floating above your body, and you can see the room and yourself..
but without going and coming back it is impossible to say , and no body has ever done that.

It might if we independently knew what life after death is.
But -- I kknow you'll cringe when I say it -- there are evil spirits who masquerade as 'angels of light' so who knows. To me, near-death isn't death. But that's me.
