We know He is the Son of God and the SOn of Man. Of the four gospels.. three emphasize Him as the Kingly Savior with a geneology in Matthew .. One as a Slave savior in Mark without geneology and Luke as the Genuine Man savior. JOhn shows Him as God Who is the Word from the Beginning.

But to the Lord in His day to day ministering, I have noticed that even when the Demons confessed Him as the Son of God and NEVER as the Son of Man that He would silence them.( Luke 4:41)
I was looking through the bible and almost all of the times the Lord referred to Himself He did so as the Son of Man. The References to Him as the ' Son of God " was done by others when it related to Him.
Why was this so important to the Lord during His earthly ministry.

Just some food for thought. Today.. as the Church as the One New Man on the earth is quite striking. Christ is the prototype and in whose mold we are being conformed from glory to glory ( 2 Cor 3:18)
Defeating the enemy as a MAN seemed to be crucial to the Lord. He seemed to set the stage for us to follow in His footsteps. I also wanted to note that in the Lord's ascension He did so AS A MAN. There is now a man on the throne of God. Is this not mindblowing!
THis one who is interceding and our Mediator and High Priest is the MAN CHRIST JESUS!

He wanted us to know that He is the real man. He is God, but He is also man. As man He defeated the enemy Satan with all the prinpipalities and demons. He also wanted to tell us that as the Son of man, He knows us.
In Luke we can see how this real man was.

His adoptive father, Joseph, was a direct descendant of the House of David. So Jesus, as his son, was the "Son of David"...

Because WE are! Sheesh, this isn’t that hard to figure out. We needed to know beyond a shadow of doubt that we’re dealing with somebody who knows all about being human just as much as we do. Not only do we need to know from the standpoint of what He taught, but also what He did and still does. If He can do it, then the potential for me to be able to do likewise exists, and that opens the door for me to do far than I ever thought of before I came to Him.

There’s a lot more to be a “mere” human being than we probably know about, and Jesus made a point of showing us just exactly that.

More to the point, we can accept Him as divine without any great stretch of the imagination, but can we fully accept what He showed us as to what it fully is to be a “complete” human being? Jesus didn’t come necessarily to show us what HE was, but to reveal to us what WE could be.

cause when he was human he was a son of man.

people think that Jesus is called son of God cause he born as a human, no he was already a son of god when God sent him according to John 3:16.

God has many sons in heaven according to Job 1:6 and 2:1 , Jesus was the firstborn of them according to Colossians 1:15-17 ,Rev. 3:14 and Micah 5:2.

The "Son of Man" reference is used extensively throughout the Book of Enoch (1 Enoch). This was a popular text during Jesus' day. 27 copies were found at the Qumran dig and it is quoted word for word in Jude. The Book of Enoch shows what was intended by this reference.

Dan 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Dan 7:13 -
One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven - This most certainly points out the Lord Jesus, בר אנש bar enosh, the Son of miserable man; who took our nature upon him that he might redeem us unto himself. To prove himself to be the Messiah he applies, before the high priests, these words of the Prophet Daniel to himself Mat_24:30.

Jesus calling himself the "Son of man" is NOT a reference to his humanity, but to his DEITY.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

To call Him Christ Jesus is to call him Emmanuel, meaning God with us. To call him Jesus Christ is reference to his humanity.
He alone is both, Jesus Christ, and Christ Jesus.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
In His Service,
John the Baptist

Because hes both human and divine. Mary is his mother. Shes a human. Man does not pertain to men only. Its more like a shortened word for human.

Who Jesus Said He Was

Although Jesus rarely spoke of himself as God’s Son, he did acknowledge that he was. Almost invariably, however, he said that he was “the Son of man.” By identifying himself this way, he highlighted his human birth, the fact that he was truly a man. Thus he also revealed himself to be that “son of man” whom Daniel had seen in vision appearing before Almighty God, “the Ancient of Days.”

Christ Jesus, “the Son of Man.” In the Gospel accounts the expression is found nearly 80 times, applying in every case to Jesus Christ, being used by him to refer to himself.

Jesus’ application of this expression to himself clearly showed that God’s Son was now indeed a human, having ‘become flesh’ (Joh 1:14), having ‘come to be out of a woman’ through his conception and birth to the Jewish virgin Mary. Hence he had not simply materialized a human body as angels had previously done; he was not an incarnation but was actually a ‘son of mankind’ through his human mother.

The designation “Son of man,” therefore, also serves to identify Jesus Christ as the great Kinsman of mankind, having the power to redeem them from bondage to sin and death, as well as to identify him as the great Avenger of blood.

Jesus’ being called the “Son of David” (Mt 1:1; 9:27) emphasizes his being the heir of the Kingdom covenant to be fulfilled in David’s line; his being called the “Son of man” calls attention to his being of the human race by virtue of his fleshly birth; his being called the “Son of God” stresses his being of divine origin, not descended from the sinner Adam or inheriting imperfection from him but having a fully righteous standing with God.

When Jesus applied this term to himself he was a human, so he was literally “a son of man.” He also gave his life to ransom humans, thus acting out the role of mankind’s closest relative, truly a “Son of man.”
