Is that why we fear death so much? Is it a mystery...why is it a mystery...why do we fear death?

it is a mystery, because we don't just die and come back and write a book about it.
It is just a closing of one chapter to begin a new one, you will know nothing until judgment day

No I do not think there is any mystery to death at all. Also, people do not so much fear death as prolonged dying. When you are dead, then your biological functions have stopped. End of mystery really.

I don't fear death just leaving those I love behind before I am ready.

It isn't a mystery to me but an exciting journey into the unknown. My heritage tells me I will spend eternity in heaven and other cultures have other opinions of where they will go.

Death is a mystery because those who pass away cannot tell you what death is like and so we are left to make assumptions.
Do i fear death? No way, why should I, it's a natural part of the process of life. Birth, Death, Rebirth and the cylce continues...

Christians do not fear death but they are uncertain about the lives of those that they leave behind for a time.
Others hope that they are right but perhaps worry that they are wrong and that the Christians were right.

How is that for extreme generalizations?

Seriously, Christians realize that every day is a blessing and that we are going to be held to account for how we made use of that blessing. That worries us more than the death of our physical bodies.

Hope that helps.

It's not a mystery. It's a fact. 100% of people die. There is nothing to fear in death, because you'll be dead and you won't care.

We are biologically inclined to avoid death. We realize it is inevitable. Those two facts combined with a biological tendency to be wary of unfamiliar things result in what you call the fear of death.

I don't fear death
though I think its more on how you die that might be the scary part. Once youare dead then its pretty simple I would think

No one wants to linger and suffer in death I think all of us would want to go quick with out pain or suffering.
So maybe its those things that scare people

Its not a mystery. Read your Bible if you have 1 & it tells you it is appointed unto man once to die & after this the judgement. We either accept Jesus Christ as our Lord & personal Saviour or we reject Him & all He has done for us & are going to bow on the last day & face the consequeces.
