ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love this question!

I believe accepting Christ as Savior does something to the funny bone - like remove it or something? I believe it also does something to the sarcasm detection system as well.

What also is odd, really odd, is that christians call babylonian myths, sumerian myths, Egyptian myths, greek myths, and roman myths "myths." They do not have the capacity to see their own stories as "myths." On top of that, not only do they not understand their own myths, they make errors in their myths. Ask christians how many wise men came to visit Jesus! Then read the New Testaments birth naratives (Matthew and Luke) and you will see that the number of wise men are not even named. The wise men bring three gifts, but no where does the Bible say how many wise guys there are! I can do this with a great many christian myths. If you tell a lie long enough, it sometimes becomes a fact to those that cannot think for themselves... People will argue god did not invent sin, but the obvious comeback is "Why then did God allow it if he hates it so much?" The best argument a theist can make is that god could have made us all like robots who do nothing but what we are programmed to. But to have a relationship, free choice must be involved. The obvious comeback then would be "Why was God lonely?" Why did he have to create humanity as his little pets? What I want to know is: was there hemp in the garden of eden? The Bible afterall doesn't prohibit smoking weed. We can ask all sorts of odd questions here like "Why did god give a serpent the ability to speak?" "Why did god allow the serpent to "tempt" his own offspring>?" Why did god create the garden of eden? Did adam use his left or right hand before Eve was created? Both? Myths are shown easily to be what they are, cause they really do not answer anything for modern minds. The Hebrew in Geneses 3 is not "apple" it is "peri" meaning "fruit." The hebrew word "satan" for Satan, is not in Genesis either, the word "nechash" or "serpent" is. The first time the Bible calls the serpent in Genesis 3 "Satan" is in the book of revelation, a new testament book written in Greek. Jews do not see satan in Genesis, they see a serpent. The problem with myths is that they were made by ancient people who did not have science yet. This was how they understood the world and could explain it. The more educated a culture is, the less religious it is. Prayer will not cure cancer one day, nor will God. The scientific method will cure it. When your child gets seriously ill, do you pray, or take him to a hospital.? Doctors save more lives than God...Apparently, God is too busy killing us all with wars, revolutions, earthquakes, floods, famines, etc then to do us any good, like send us the cure for Cancer or AIDS. I would like to sue god, for all the unanswered prayer, problem is, I don't know his address. I also keep getting accused of blasphemy all the time. Problem is I cannot be convicted of a victimless crime...

Nay, for the readers must also be intelligent enough to comprehend it, no matter how obviously the sarcasm is displayed. Seems to me that a good portion of his creations can't even function intelligently, much less understand sarcasm in written form.

Sorry, even god could not create sarcasm that would penetrate the Pit Bull Dogmatics' dogmatism. (Hey, I just invented a new breed. Cool!!)

Sadder yet, they would report what they didn't understand and would forever remain clueless of their encounter with god.

Namaste,

No cause God has apparently failed in the ability to create all humans smart enough to understand sarcasm.
Another flaw in the creation theory.
Oh yeah we have the "banana" and then we have folks who have the intelligence of a banana as well...WTG God!!

No, because such a question couldn't exist. (No matter what obvious forms of sarcasm you use, I'm pretty sure that somebody will mistake it for your true beliefs, especially on the internet.)

you are suggesting that god could create a question so blatantly sarcastic that even a believer would get it?

that would be an almighty god.

If He did, He'd be about the only One Who could.

That's why so many of my posts end with the words, "Note to the humorously-impaired. . ."
