The ISP should have given you your mail settings.

Normally:

1. POP account is your incoming link such as

pop@your ISP.net

2. SMTP is your outgoing link:

smtp.your ISP.net

You will also need your USER name

You will also need your account PASSWORD

Sarge

OK, First pop3 is a type Internet account like yahoo or gmail. another one would be exchange. SMTP is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This is used in all outlook accounts. Now how to set it depends on who the provider of the email is and how they have it setup. Usually it is for the pop3 it is pop3.testpage.com and the smtp is smtp.testpage.com the only way to know for sure is to find out from the provider of the email account.

Great question and good luck!

Ok, because you speak my language (not knowing what Pop3 and SMTP are) I have taken the liberty of finding a site that will walk you through the configuration. The great thing about this site is it has screenshots of everything! Here you go, hope this helps...

pop3 = the address of the mail server for receiving email from your service provider. The service provider will tell you that. POP = post office protocol, 3 is the third version of the protocol.

SMTP = address of the server for sending email. You get this from your service provider too. SMTP = simple mail transport protocol.

many providers use a similar name for their mail servers such as mail.testpage.com would be the pop3 server, smtp.testpage.com might be the smtp server. You need to check with the provider.

Each e-mail has it's own settings, POP is used for your incoming, and smtp is used for your outgoing.

In your case;
pop = pop.testpage.com
smtp = smtp.testpage.com

Or;

pop = mail.testpage.com
smtp = mail.smtp.com

It depends on the provider and how their settingsa re, every provider does usually explain on their website how to configure your outlook correctly.

My suggestion is to contact your ISP (internet service provider). They are trained to walk you through this process step by step, without extra charge. It will be configured correctly doing it their way.
