I work in health care, usually hospitals is there a best way to check your own background for employment?

I see there are background checking companies on the internet. How do the hospitals check/what companies do they use? I feel I have gotten turned down for positions I should not have and I need to know if there is something in my background checks or otherwise that I should know. I know I am a good person. I am a thoughtful/hardworking health care provider and I feel I should be employed full time. I appreciate your response.

You have the right to obtain your background check information. I have applied for jobs in the past and have had "hits" come back against my name because it is so common, but it has not actually been my charges/offenses and I was given the opportunity to defend my name. I would contact the employer and ask to meet with the human resources person to discuss your background check.

If you were turned down because of your background check then you have the right to get that information. What you do is call the company that you interviewed for and ask for the background check information. They are required by law to keep that information.
