for example dinosaur would be T REX or not sour would become SWEET

I think that if it was Soft Cell then the clue would not have just been prison, but something like gentle prison.

There is a heavy metal band called "Lock Up" which is a direct synonym of prison, so is more appropriate, but definitely not a well known group.

Soft Cell? As in prison cell.....sorry, did not really understand the question
