I don't think the rulers or leaders of the world should believe in God. Unless they can separate that belief from the job they have to do.
It hasn't helped out much so far...If that one thing can be removed from debate it would allow for more time to work on real issues. I hate to use George W. as and example but the man claims to be Christan yet he is oblivious to his suffering nation, running a great country into the ground leaving a legacy of debt his people will be lucky to recover from in the generation of their great great great great grandchildren. I know it's not just religion that has made this what it is. I just feel he would be held more accountable if he didn't spew out his God crap every time he's in the hot seat. Using vulnerable peoples beliefs to pull the wool over their eyes about what is really going on. So they don't do a damn thing about it. That system is designed for the rich to prosper and the poor to suffer. Encouraging the poor to "Trust in God" and strive for that "American Dream". Same pile as far as I can tell.

It takes much more than just saying yes they should believe in God. They need to practice basic principles and morale and be just and non-corrupt before they can lead. Otherwise the people will all be misled, there lives will become a struggle, they will not reap the benefits of their hard work, from mismanagement at the head of society. What's going on today with the majority of rulers is the greed and corrupt factor. Some of these people claim to believe in God, but this does not make them better people or better leaders.
God doesn't stand for deceit, prejudice or injustice.

Yes, they should. Because if they don't they simply can't be good rulers... they can't at all identify with the people. The potential that they will take even more liberties and awful chances with those whom they "rule" not ever thinking they have to answer to a higher authority becomes a real threat. Rulers and leaders who don't believe in God are the most dangerous on the planet and have always been.

I don't care nor do I want to know. I just want them to keep religion out of politics.

Why? Because sometimes whats good for a country may be against the leader's religion. The leader needs to think past his/her beliefs to choose whats best for the country.

Like the USA and stem cells research. Most americans want funding for it. But because idiot bush is a christian he doesn't allow it. Meaning he went against whats good for the country because of his beliefs.

Not if they use it to influence or decide international or even domestic events, thats why Blair got so much stick here for saying at first he based a decision by prayer, when the news reported this he quickly went on the defensive claiming that he does not let his religion influence him directly? why because here we don't bother with religion and will not allow it to envelop society any more than it has already,I would not vote for devoutly religious politician..

You would be surprised at who states that they do, but behind closed doors is a different story.
Just take a look at the law changes and the sentences that are handed out and what is allowed in this world and you would understand what I'm saying

I agree with Lynda at work...
Do what's best for the country, regardless of religious beliefs.

That being said, I'm always going to be suspect of a person that believes in myths and superstition over bona fide science.
