Not really....but if one feels they should it would go like this or it would not be truthful or sincere! Japanese people: I am truly sorry that your nation at that time forced us to drop two atomic bombs on your cities! We wished this never had to occur but, your imperialistic government at the time, forced us as they attacked Pearl Harbor, while their diplomats were in Washington, DC talking a political solution with U.S. officials, knowing they had the Japanese fleet on its way to attack Pearl Harbor and murder our military personnel and civilians! What do you believe America should have done.....kissed your nations ***? Look, you people have no one to blame except your government at that time and the people who supported them by allowing them to have an existence! These are the facts...when your country allowed those dogs to run your nation, your civilians got flea's! America was forced to drop those bombs on civilians or face losing thousands fighting to acheive victory within Japanese territory! After what the Japanese did to other nations and their civilians during WWII, those living in Japan now should read the real history on that era and keep their mouths shut, in total shame of their relatives who participated in such cruelty and barbaric acts of that era! Using the Chinese civilians as bayonette practice tied to a pole to show other Japanese soldiers how to kill people is inhumane to say the least! Woman and children were tortured, raped and brutally murdered! Did you read about that in the Japanese history books in school? Here's your apology....Get over it...your civilians deserved every bit of the atomic bombs that were dropped and the truth is they more than likely deserved a lot more than that for all the barbaric actions they supported against innocent victims around the globe!

NO. The Japanese declared war on the USA, after their attack on Pearl Harbor... an administrative error.

The refused to stop the war or surrender.

And just FYI, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were legitimate military-industrial targets at the time... AND had been untouched by US bombing up until then.

Simply put... you get attacked and then WIN the war... no need to make excuses.

I HAVE been to Nagasaki, seen the memorial bell, seen the pictures, and KNOW the effects of a nuc-blast.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I loaded and carried special-weapons during the Cold War. Damn things scare me, and their use is terrible, but the alternative was also unthinkable

Yes they should. Many of the civilians bombed had little if anything to do with the Japanese attacks and war.

But also remember that the fire bombing of Tokyo killed more people and caused more damage than the nukes.

Also remember a true apology is offered unconditionally.

Pearl Harbor was an attack on a military installation while stray AA bullets from American guns killed many civilians in Honolulu.

the Japanese were training woman and children to fight in hand to hand combat in Japan was ever invaded by land. They made thier choice to wake the "sleeping monster" when they attacked Pearl Harbor. Take the time go to Blockbuster and watch the serries called "the War" it aired a seven part 14 hour series on PBS it will show you what these so called "civilians" were preparing to do. The bomb was getting developed to use on Germany but the Russians stopped the Germans in Stalingrad before the 2 bombs were developed. so instead of loosing another 100,000 of our troops with a ground invasion we took 100,000 of japanese out. It sure did stop ww2 in a hurry. They had a choice after the first bomb to surrender but they chose not to. Good thing , because we only had 2 nukes at that time.. war is hell. The object of war is not to die for your country , but to make the other guy die for his. We have made up for that bombing 100 times over look at your local Department store and see how many are made in Japan. We support thier economy and we purchase thier products... wax on .. wax off danielson

Should the Japanese apologize for bombing an innocent air base with civilians in it and causing a 2nd world war? If we had not bombed two cities, they would have lost more people in suicide attacks years later. At that point in time, it's safe to say the Japanese didn't value life nearly as much as they do now. Besides, it was quick and easy - first they were alive and a second later they were dead. Easy way to go...

Has Japan apologized for the Bataan Death March (or how they treated our POWs in general)? No

Has Japan apologized for the Rape of Nanjing? No

Has Japan apologized for the way they treated the Chinese, Koreans and Filipinos? No

Has Japan apologized to the people they used for slave labor, forced prostitutes or medical experiments? No

I think the answer is obvious.

They don't even like to acknowledge those events took place and are constantly debating whether any of the events that I mention should even be included in their History books, at least we allow open discussion about what we did.

If anything, they should be thanking us. How many more Japanese would have been killed had we invaded? And what would Japan be like today if half of it was taken over by the USSR (who declared war within days of our dropping the bombs and who have had territorial claims on parts of Japan going back to the 1800s, even today Russia still asserts claims on Japanese territory)? I think we did them a favor in the long run.

No, The USA should not apologize for bombing civilians. See rape of Nan King, bombing of Pearl Harbor w no declaration of war, jap prison camps etc. What goes around came around. It will continue to go around until freaking idiots learn not to try to stick in in the USA. Those who do not like it should either move from USA or do everyone a favor and put themselves out of our misery.

No, they should not ever apologize for what has happened, let me tell you why....

1. It is what happens in war.
2. Pearl Harbor
3. They would have probably done the same thing.
4. It saved more lives than killed.

I'll also say that anyone who was not alive or there at the time has no right to say what should or should not have been done, they did not have to live in that situation and have no right to say a damn thing.

The loss of life toll from Allied firebombing raids on different cities became a tactics extra advantageous than those killed via nuclear weapons. the jap finished that many Civillians and Allied POWs in Manilla on my own. The loss of life toll of finished civllians in China could desire to be lots bigger. concentrated on of civillians started whilst the Brits by probability bombed a residential area in Germany. The Germans retaliated with an identical. After that civllians grew to grow to be a classic aim for bombing raids via all sides interior the war. Japan had plans for raids on Honolulu and San Francisco so that they had bombed US cities in the event that they could have. So no, i don't think of we ought to continuously ask for forgiveness. using nuclear weapons stored the jap as a human beings i think. Preserved lots of their way of existence. Had we been compelled to accomplish an invasion of Japan then few jap adult males above the age of 12 could have been left alive at war's end. the jap fought with mind-blowing tenacity. The Allies with Germany out of the war might have invaded with tens of millions of infantrymen. Air raids on jap cities and strongholds on my own might have killed tens of millions of jap. Civillian casualties could have been intense and it fairly is very conceivable that some jap youthful girls persons might have taken up palms till now the invasion became finished. Many jap might have dedicated ritual suicide particularly than positioned up interior the tip. Japan could have been finished as a united states of america, as a manner of existence and as a human beings. There could be too few to maintain on the traditions. Too a lot of human beings from someplace else flocking to Japan to fill the footwear of the lifeless. The archtecture of the country could have been left in ruins. So interior the tip dropping the nukes became the appropriate factor, nevertheless I do sense we ought to continuously have dropped the 1st one on a protection tension company in simple terms to teach we had them and the devestating ability, then dropped the 2d on a city. i think this could have been in simple terms as efficient as bombing 2 cities.
