There are a lot of questions pertaining to apple cider on yahoo answers, but not a lot of recipes or ideas on how to use it, besides drinking it. I got a couple gallons and there is no way I can drink all that! Tell me how I can use it in cooking. I've Googled and Yahoo'd but can't find any good ideas. Maybe ya'll can. Do you know how it holds up in the freezer? Will it still be good for anything when I thaw it? I'm at a loss and I really hate to waste it. It wasn't expensive but I just have this thing about wasting food!!!!!! My Mamaw instilled that in me.....Anybody??????????????
I thank ya'll in advance.

All very helpful answers Thank you!!!!
I drank some & put some in the freezer for later. I'm going to try that rice pork chop casserole that Sue suggested. Will also try some other ideas like basting and substituting with it in recipes etc. Thanks, y'all !!!

As long as it is in sealed jar, it will keep for about a year in the pantry.

Yes, you can freeze it. Put it in container boxes and seal and freeze. Will keep for about the same year.

We make "Spider" for Christmas. Equal parts apple cider and cranberry juice. To about a gallon of this we add a handful of whole cloves and 4 cinnamon sticks and heat to just boiling.

You can substitute the Cider for water in any pie recipe!!

You can add the Cider to pork chop dishes in place of the water called for in casseroles. 1 cup uncooked rice, 2 cups cider, 1 can mushroom soup, 6 browned pork chops. Bake at 350 about an hour tightly covered.

You can substitute cider for the water called for in white and yellow cake mixes.

email me for more ideas!!!

If you eat pork, you can use some apple cider as basting liquid to keep your pork moist while baking, and it will add a nice flavor. You certainly can freeze it and it should keep fairly well for a couple of months. Or have a party!

It should freeze just like apple just as long as it isn't carbonated. I would invite a load of friends around for mulled cider and snacks. It's great in cold weather and not as heavy as mulled wine.

You can also get a gammon and boil it in the cider. This taste delicious! And you can eat it hot or slice up and have cold. We often slice it up and then freeze in slices for sandwich meat.
