i'm going to vote! (i'm not abroad tho)
(and i'm not telling who for)
i think more about those poor people in sderot than i do the government--- 70 rockets and 1,200 mortar shells were fired into Israel from Gaza by Palestinian militants!!!
did they cut the power to gaza? am i getting my news filtered or something??? i did see they 'decided' to launch an offensive into gaza, i imagine cutting off the free benefits would be a good place to start. sigh--- wish i could understand hebrew better.
only the results of our actions will show whether we are going on a good path or not.
i'm almost sure you can vote from abroad...

I think the current government needs an overhaul.
The latest actions with the palestinians... do you mean what Israel is doing? or what the Palestinians are doing? Israel needs to get some anti-qassam technology, and the PA needs to take some authority and put a stop to the rocket attacks. When the rocket attacks stop, the missile strikes from the IAF will stop as well.
The release of 430 prisoners:
I dont think this is a good idea, because who is gaining from this? It won't make the palestinian terrorists think any better of Israel. It will just tell them that their tactics are working. Power cut to gaza, good Idea, as long as power is still kept at hospitals, police stations and other necessary centers of life. Right now, unfortunately, I'm not sure what path we are on... only the future will tell.
And I do not have the right to vote, but if I did, I would most likely vote center/right. The reason being, I do not support giving back any more land, until the Palestinian Authority starts showing it actually has some authority and stops rocket attacks on innocent civilians. Israel gave Gaza back to the Palestinians, and what do they do? Shoot more rockets!

Well, I'm Jewish but not Israeli so I do not get to vote in Israeli elections.
Nevertheless, I have opinions on Israel (obviously).
I think nobody likes the current government of Israel, both left wing or right wing. Isn't Olmert polling in the single digits?
The prisoner release is a bad idea not only because it will not result in its stated goal (i.e. as a confident building measure that will help lead towards peace) and not only because it has never worked in the past but because it is immoral.
My mind is not made up yet on the issue of cutting power to Gaza.
And for your assertion that things were more "bloody" under Likud rule, do you have any evidence to back it up? And more importantly, can you prove that was true due to policies adopted by the Likud? In other words, cause and effect.

I think the current government of Israel is horrid.
The release of 430 prisoners is a move in the right direction.
The power cut to Gaza puts too many innocent people in peril; women, children, people who just want to LIVE...
We as Israelis are following a disastrous path.
I do not have the right to vote, as I left Israel before the age of 16. If I did have the right to vote I would not use it, because I am feeling pretty hopeless about the entire mess, which is why I am happy to be living in the U.S, away from all of that... Perhaps it is the coward's way out, but I do not want my son in the IDF, and I do not want to get involved with all that fighting...
Sorry...

This Government is weak, incompetent. It is weak to the outside enemy, while ruthless to it's own people. They (Olmert and Co.) will be doomed for moving Jews out of Gaza, Judea and Samaria.
Israel need a strong leader who is interested in the strong and solid state of Israel, someone who is willing to stand up and fight the enemy off, someone who truly realizes how to best solve the problem.
these bi*ches (Olmert and Co) decide not to go into a massive offensive operation against Hamas, and Kassams keep falling on the heads of Jewish women and children in Sderot!
Olmert has no face to save, because he has no face. He is a snake, a lying slimy snake. I would vote for Haled Mashal before I'd vote Olmert.
A tribunal is what I wish for him.

TAL - great poem, love it!
We don't voting rights in Israel, but I guess Israelis living abroad do, and can send in postal votes?
I worry that releasing all those prisoners won't actually have the desired result: i.e. cessation of rocket attacks and terrorism. Surely, logically, if Israel 'rewards' all the rocket attacks with these nice gestures, it just encourages more terrorism?
But I'd be really happy to be proved wrong on this one!
Can I ask who you vote for, as you asked us? If you prefer not to say I totally understand :)
MONEYMAKER - don't be shy now, say what you really feel... !!! :)

Israel has shown much patience, thoughtfulness and restraint in the imposition of sanctions against the palestinians. The violent palestinian factions continue to use terrorism in spite of the agreement reached during negotiation.
Why don't the huge arab countries offer land and sanctuary to thier displaced arab brothers. The same way the british were sympathetic to the Zionist movement after WW II. If the other arab states were to offer land and santuary instead of bombs and weapons, the problem would fade away!!

I think it's horrible and very stupid to release prisoners when we have 3 soldiers in the hands of murderers!!!!!!
I don't like our government and I can't wait for the election time. I would probably vote for the right! it's time for some action!!!

This is a poem from an Irish Jew who just want's peace and quiet...............
>The wind was blowing out of doors,
>The snow was piling high.
>And I could see pedestrians,
>As they were passing by.
>
>The faces of my Irish friends,
>Came dimly through the glass.
>As they trudged those icy streets,
>To worship at their Mass.
>
>I watched awhile; went back to bed,
>And cuddled safe and sound,
>As they braved those icy roads,
>On sacred duty bound.
>
>I envy them their strength of heart,
>The faith that they renew,
>But on an ice cold Sunday morning,
>It's so good to be a Jew.

You wish Israel to commit suicide.
Leftists do have that problem.
The Likud or the National Union must regain power in Israel.
