Global Warming - Overpopulation?

Why do people keep on having babies? they're are MORE than enough people on the earth!!!! this is what mostly cause global warming!! aren't people stupid?

The entire population of the world could fit into the state of Texas. And that's giving everyone 1000 sq feet to live in. The earth can support many more billions of people. Certainly, the population of humans on the earth has nothing to do with global warming.

It is not a popular battle for politicians and few people are concerned about humanity as a whole ,let alone the planet.

People get get very nervous when you go below the belt
Mans sexuality and very often how many kids hes got is proof of his masculinity and insurance for old age
with many possible incomes to assist him when he himself cannot work any more
the second point is HOW do we ethically control populations

poor areas with less education DEMONSTRATE THE HIGHEST NUMBERS OF TEEN AGE PREGNANCIES,

educated women have less children
But uneducated populations are more religious and more resistant to birth control.
to forcibly control populations is frowned upon to say the least
So it is being done in sneaky ways

In the Netherlands after the war families were encouraged
to have few children because it is such a small country
not much bigger than Mexico city,
so it was physically impossible to fit a lot of people into the country ,There people can understand the concept of birth control,
But in larger countries many think like rabbits and think only of the family ,not the society as a whole

what happens if the country is full
wage war and kill everybody in another place to invade and settle there ,that would be the natural solution
In the past conquering countries encouraged the people to have many kids to be used as cannon fodder
or settling farmers needed many sons to provide labor,
one would have thought that we had progressed from that
But judging by the answers, many still cling to the old self centered or invasive philosophies

NATURES POINT OF VIEW

In Nature exists such a thing as the law of Harmony and Equilibrium
Some Native peoples have always been aware of this
to limit the tribes number to as many as the tribe can afford to feed
The Central Americans sacrificed the excess children,the earlier ones like the Olmec practiced birth control
Amazonian tribes have strict sexual rites that limit copulation in the conventional way.

Animals have lots of young when there is plenty of food ,and have little or none when the conditions are bad
when there is a plague of rabbits ,many foxes are born,
when there is no game lions ,and other predators have few cubs.

All follow the LAW OF NATURE OF EQUILIBRIUM
everybody is welcome ,but nobody in excess.
we must co-exist on this planet and limit our numbers to our resources

All of Nature obeys these LAWS,but Humans put themselves above the LAW,and have bred themselves into a plague
It is a miracle that Nature has allowed us to get this far.

everything else is set upon by plagues ,disease or predators ,when they exceed their allotted quantity,or there are Natural disasters .

There are two moments in the existence of a specie when extinction is likely,
when there are two few
And when there are too many.

Maybe Gaia is trying to tell us something with Global Warming
Humanity should listen and beware
we are part of the same Eco systems
and subject to the same LAWS
whether we like it or believe it or not

The problem is that the only people who will listen are people in first world countries like the US and Europe. When they are overrun by immigrants from 3rd world countries do you really think they will give a dam about the environment? What has Mexico or the Middle East done to clean its air? Countries such as these have the majority of births in the world. If we as Americans and Europeans give up and stop having children we will lose our power in the world, along with the power to change the world for the better.
Europe has a high standard of living and the lowest environmental impact of first world nations, yet they have the lowest birthrate. In 100 years their society will be gone because they didn't think it was worth it to repopulate. Then women will lose their rights and the enviroment will take a back seat to everything else. The society that produces the most babies right now is Palestine. Thats a fact.

20 years ago someone brought up the idea of zero population growth. This means a married couple would have no more than two children. Over a period of time, the population would decrease. Nothing was ever done about it. The United States rewards families who have x amount of children by giving them tax deductions. China is the only country now that has placed a limit on the # of births. The rest of the world just doesn't care.
I agree, there are way too many people now for the earth to accomodate. Read up on the Gaia Theory.

You should be happy people have babies and will continue to. If people would have stopped then you wouldn't be here!! Do you not realize that some people want a family and can have a family without destroying earth. That is very narrow minded thinking. You may have overpopulation in one country and that's china.. everywhere else is doing just fine. I had a son not to long ago and very glad I have him and will never adhere to population control.. Don't you know that's what AIDs is and cancer is population control..

OK first of all people that are having alot of babies like in Africa for example they dont know that the world is overpopulated and secondly they have alot of children so they help work so they can make money, but once you are in middle class its gets expensive to have kids so they have less children. thats y

If you want to enjoy your retirement pray the population stay on the currant trend. With low birth rates economies quickly begin to suffer and provision of key resources will get costly as the economy of scales kicks in. Who will generate taxes to look after an aging population and maintain the key infrastructures.

2 flaws with your premise:

1- global warming isn't caused by people.

2- the world is not over populated. FACT: we could take every person in the world, move them to Texas, and the population density there would still be LESS than what it is in NY City right now!

so what about famine, you ask? why so many starving in Africa? 1st of all, the population density of most African countries is FAR below that of other "Developed" countries. it is miniscule when compared to wealthy countries. so the # of people isn't the problem. the problem lies in the governments. when corrupt governments interrupt the distribution of food, like Niger, where the government is in control of who gets the food, has left 2.5 million people starving because of their "Controls".

The (worthless) UN even admits that we are OVER PRODUCING food.

Over population is NOT a problem. thats yet another scare tactic drummed up by our wonderful media.

Yes they are, and self-destructive, and selfish, and egotistical, and lacking in foresight... the list goes on, the band plays on.

Many people have babies because their religion tells them to, others -mainly in poor countries- to secure their future as it is children who eventually take care of the elders, others to "realize" themselves, and the excuses/rationalizations continue... and the band plays on.

When the oil runs out, and now that the bees are dying when the food becomes scarce, when we need armed troops firing on civilians to stop the riots, when the lights go out, when a state of emergency is declared, when gas is $15 a gallon and when there's millions living on the streets, even then they won't stop. And the band plays on....
