I have a WestingHouse HDTV but I think I have the Color/Brightness/Sharpness and all that good stuff on the wrong setting, what do you use for your settings?

You cannot take someone else's numbers and use them on your TV. The settings are adjustable because:

- The box's you attach to the TV have different electrical signals
- The electronics in the TV have thousands of slight variations

You have to adjust the settings of YOUR tv with YOUR devices.

Also - the higher-end units have completely separate settings for each input.

Get a copy of "Avia" or "Digital Video Essentials". These setup DVD's have test patterns and tutorials that take you through adjusting the brightness, contrast, color settings for your DVD player.

This will give you some sane numbers and let you know what to look for when adjusting the CATV input or Sat/Game system inputs.

Settings are different for all TVs. Although they all have the same categories, they all yield different results depending on the display.

I suggest searching google for the settings people use with that specific TV (model # and brand) I am sure you will find a forum with people and the settings they use.

Also, you can try what they say to do on cnet. Here is the link:

there are also some videos in there somewhere, but I cant find them. ^_^
