The back of the W4 is a worksheet. No, you don't have to turn it in although it can be very helpful when calculating deductions. Ask for two copies of the W4 (smart anyway) and just complete the front for the one you give your employer.

All you need to fill out is the form itself, and it's about 5 inches long. The rest is worksheets, to help you get to the right number of allowances to put on the form. The info on the form itself is all that really matters.

If you are working two jobs with a significant income from each, you might be better off if you put zero allowances on both W-4's - otherwise you could end up owing money when you file your tax return.

My husband entered here illegally when he was 16 and just recently went back to mexico filed the appropriate paper work and hes home now as a Legal Permanent Resident!! Now he did pay taxes before because he had a ITIN number. With this number even if you are getting paid cash you can still file taxes as he did. Its a legal number issued by the IRS. Its a simple application and you can get it. Thank God hes legal now though. We have been married 8 years and together for 11. He faced the consequences and went back and made it right what he had done!!! Just thought Id throw that in there :)

This is only a worksheet. However if you are working two jobs (and yes you can keep that to yourself) make sure you have enough tax withheld. The tax tables are designed and based on one job only. So you will need to probably have extra tax taken out on one job. If you take and exemption of one on one job, take an exemption of zero on the other.
