i believe that what a life time is for is to become our optimum true selves so we can be excepted into our final resting place which is in heavan. i believe that it take several life times to know thy self yes, reincarnation. in one life time, we are given life problems and based on how we react towards that particular problem we are allowed to move forward on to a new problem or we are forced to repeat that problem until we get it right. if you never get anything right then you are forced to relive in to another life time until you become your optimum best both spiritually and mature.

if the lessons to be learnt that we are faced everyday are OUR lessons to be learnt then why do people prey for a different kind of out come?

it seems to me that god wants us to help our selves. it's a must.

unless, we are meant to ask a different kind of line of blessings. like instead of asking him for money instead we should ask why we are meant to live at this time a poor person. ...

what do we need to learn to move on to better things and can you help gueid me to learn what is is to know about my self. it could be that he knows better then i do that as a poor person im kind and sympathetic to other in the same boat as me. as a rich person i would be stingy greedy with all my things making me unkind and horrible.

so i guess what i'm asking is, isn't it best to help our selves out if we can, a better thing to do then to rely on on a preyer that might not be answered coz it's our life lesson to be learnt?

A perfect example of humanism. It is not about you and your comfort, it is all about Him and His glory.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. The main purpose of life is to grow spiritually, to improve ones self until you have no more lessons to learn.

Since life is about learning it is always best to try and solve things yourself, and not appeal to God to help you. Because God is not in the business of fixing people's problems. The best way to think of God is as the source of all things. All souls were born from God, but that does not make God a controlling father in the human sense.

Every soul picks the lives they lead based on the lessons that they need to learn. What people have a hard time understanding is that a soul has no emotional hang ups and is completely willing to choose a life full of pain, if it's going to teach the lessons that need to be learned.

God doesn't control your destiny, you do. So instead of praying for help one should remember that life is a choice and all things in life are meant to teach.

It is not as important to know yourself than to know God. Basically God knows you since He made. He made you inside and outside. Yes, there are things which we must go through to obtain our true selves. But you can never be perfect while on this earth. We can "sin less" but we can't be "sinless".

Which leads to the question - how to enter heaven's gates.

I believe that every has a purpose on earth. Everyone. And Jesus express purpose was to "destroy the works of the Devil"1 and he did that by "His victory over them on the Cross"2. "And we know that our old being has been put to death with Christ on his cross, in order that the power of the sinful self might be destroyed, so that we should no longer be the slaves of sin.3"

To enter heaven, you only need to accept Christ's work on the cross. It is finished.7 It is done.8

And I don't know how many times you need to be reincarnated to know that. It also says that "man is destined to die once, and then face the judgement.4 For when a person dies, he is set free from the power of sin.5 God forgave us all our sins; he cancelled the unfavourable record of our debts with its binding rules and did away with it completely by nailing it to the cross.6"

One last thing: we can't go to Heaven unless someone tells us how to get there. We can't get in by ourselves, can we? No, we need someone to bring us there. Consider this: Only the
Master of the House can open the door and let people in. So only God can show the way.

good start. i might go further and venture to say that in all these life times and all these lessons we are meant to learn that really they are all the same lesson shown in different perspectives. if one has learned complete and total forgivness of self, others and God, then the lesson is complete and you may return to the Source. if there is still something left which we have not forgiven at the end of a life, then our attachment to it draws us back into the world for another go around ad infinitum or until we figure it all out.

space-time is a method through which we can learn Forgivness. once we have learned what there is to learn from it, it will no longer serve a purpose in existing and will vanish, leaving only our Self in the womb of eternity with the rays of the Source raining down on our spirit.

what is real cannot be destroyed. what is not real cannot exist. seek Reality. :)

EDIT: dont be phased by these nay sayers who say God cannot exist with reincarnation. i dont claim to know the Truth about God, but i know that they dont know it either. from our perspective, in this life, and the next, there are only possibilities.

I'm sorry to tell you, but you cannot believe in God and reincarnation at the same time. God doesn't teach anything about reincarnation.
If you study Hinduism, that's about reincarnation.
Another interesting subject to study is Maslow's Theory of Needs. It talks about the levels we go through in our life before death and what makes us ready or mature enough before we die.

the minute you incorporate religion into your understanding you loose yourself...

life lesson 1... there is no life after death... so all purpose of life has to do with the one time you have.

optimum true selves.... the combination of life's experience and growing into the person you want to be....

the purpose is to make yourself useful... in the familly, and in your society... to contribute the society and culture you belong to...

evolution... you said the word reincarnation, in one life... you so double talk you make no sense.... what we do is our life's lessons are repeated if we miss the sign omen or opportunity to learn a lesson, life gives us opportunity.. where we are wrong nature seeks to correct us... christians having no respect for nature due to their loyalty to religion often miss the point of this...

We are capable of being useful and whole in one life time... because a christians see him or her self having value after their death, they totally miss the point of life itself...

you only have one life to live....... learn that and more will be understood...

I do not believe in reincarnation......that's like saying "Ok, if I dont get it right this life , I can try again"....no, we only have one chance to make the right choice...........And, "God helps those who help themselves"..........

Our only purpose is to provide food for tape-worms. It's not quite what most of us expected, but we must all play our part in god's master plan.
