By atheism I'm not referring to that condition people say we're born with, which while technically true, is no more positively atheistic than it is positively theistic.

I'm asking if you can refer to anyone, including yourself if it's the case, who has moved from a position where they said "I've examined the evidence carefully and it is impossible for me to believe in the existence of a divine being" to becoming a believer.

I'll start: Antony Flew.

Atheism is extra logical. Your characterization of atheism is a straw guy. If that's what atheism have been you would be amazing even though it extremely is no longer. Atheism is in simple terms the lack of ability of perception in a god. some atheists can take this a further step to believing that there isn't any god. This further step, being unproveable, turns into as irrational as theism, it extremely is additionally unproveable. by utilising the way it extremely is creationists who assert that atheism believes in an ex nihilo beginning place of the universe. in case you examine up on cosmology, however, you spot that no cosmologist is unquestionably propose an ex nihilo beginning place for the universe. And Loop Quantum Gravity now predicts no beginning place for the universe in any respect. so a ways as we are able to tell the universe is eternal and the enormous bang is unquestionably a brilliant bounce.

Antony Flew is suffering from mental problems due to old age. His memory has become extremely poor, his ability to reason and express coherent thoughts has deteriorated. Most of the deistic writings that have been attributed to him in the past few years have actually been written by other people. So, Flew is not a good example.

Francis Collins of Genentech.

As for Fred Hoyle, I don't know where to begin. I just decided one day he could only have been dumped here from outer space because he was annoying another planet. I'm sorry they dumped him in Britain but am glad he wasn't dumped in the USA. I know he's dead, but he sure became more daft as he aged.

Myself. From the moment I understood just how big the universe is, and how little we actually know. What we don't know does not automatically make it non existant. I therefore, choose to believe there is a God, and choose to have faith in a book that has repeatedly shown it's validation through prophecy (see Daniel, it's dumbfounding how detailed he is). I am comfortable with this belief than any other to date.

Be more than happy to speak of my experience of hard core Atheist to a Minister, of all positions. But this place is not a place for mature discussions. But rants, mockery and childish games. I care not to share such a life experience here. To important to me, sorry, no offense.

Me.

Eight years ago I was convinced God was a figment of peoples' imaginations and that I was less deluded and would NEVER believe such complete nonsense again.

Four years ago I changed my mind completely.
