The Bible Prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus
“And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you”.
“Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you.” [Leviticus 11:7-8]
Pork is also prohibited in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy
“And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.” [Deuteronomy 14:8]
A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.
dont tell me that its in the old testment because jesus christ peace be upon him clearly said:
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Methew 5:17

All the other Christian brothers and sisters are various other verses of the bible to give it a reason. why they do want to eat pork because Paul had a dream i want to ask Paul's dream has got more value to you then the commandment of your Lord? and if you want to make the verses which you are quoting the reason for your Pork eating then where is the Bible lying? the verses you are quoting or the verses the Asker quoted? THINK.
aren't these clear cut contradictions in the bible?
one place bible says you cant eat and according to you all other places says you can

Sad but true. Many as you have seen here thing that the verses in Acts override the Leviticus teachings. not so. What happened is the Lord brought the net down filled with the unclean animals

This has nothing to do with the animals, but with the fact that although the Gentiles had been considered "unclean' what the Lord did on the Cross changed that. Many think this has to do with food and that is no correct. As we will see from Acts 10:28.

Jews were not to associate with the "unclean" Gentile, but Paul now understands what the Lord meant by his vision, all may become.

This has nothing to do with eating unclean foods, but is to show that Gentiles may now be accepted into the"fold" so to speak. Unfortunately, just as the Holy Roman Empire bent the rules for the Sabbath, the rules here are interpreted to suit man.

People argue, but if you read any expository Bible it plainly states that it has nothing to do with animals, but with man. thus people bend and figure they can eat pork an nothing is wrong, just as catfish, but no fish without scales. Since they are a bottom feeder I assume they have no scales to let the poisons go out better from the skin. Studies show these are not good for you. Just as the laws concerning the mold and mildew that the priest had to remove. There was a reason. just like removing the "black mold" and such today.

So you are correct and the other folks should seek guidance on this subject, as there is no Bible that changes anything. It is quite simple. . Take care.

Jesus did fullfill the law. It was fullfilled with His death. Look at Hebrews 10:1-9. In verse 9 we read that He (Jesus) took away the first (Law of Moses) to establish the second (Law of Grace) Look at Galatians 3:19-25. We have no need of the law now that we have a better law, Ephesians 2:12-16 and Romans 7:6. Now about animals, read Acts 10:9-15 and Acts 15. God has made those animals clean to eat.

Pigs at the instant are not grimy animals. Pigs are animals that are often saved in grimy situations. Wild boar isn't any dirtier than livestock or goats. you're incorrect approximately Hindus and Buddhists: Hindus do no longer consume cows, yet consume different meat (in the event that they are able to arise with the money for it). Buddhists consume meat. Jews had a prohibition approximately eating beef, which replaced into observed into Islam too. in the previous they'd have been good - there are a number of illnesses which could bypass from pigs to people, which incorporate tapeworm. that would not persist with to any extent further. cutting-part farming has broken the cycle the place human waste (sh*t) finally ends up in the pigs' nutrition.

Read the Acts of the Apostles:

11:4 But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying, 11:5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me. 11:6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky. 11:7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’ 11:8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’ 11:9 But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’ 11:10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven. 11:11 Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me. 11:12 The Spirit told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house. 11:13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa, and get Simon, whose surname is Peter, 11:14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’ 11:15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning. 11:16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’ 11:17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”

The law was changed in the New Testament when God appeared to Peter in the dream about the animals walking about on the napkin. God told Peter, "Arise, kill and eat." Of course, Peter being the good Jew that he was said, "Not so Lord, for these are unclean (not fit to consume under Jewish dietary law)." God replied, "Arise Peter, kill and eat. For what I have called clean CALL THOU NOT unclean. What I have made unclean, call thou not clean."

In Acts Peter had a vision of a sheet filled with creatures being lowered down from heaven and heard a voice saying "Kill and eat." The upshot of this was the dietary restrictions that had been placed on the Jews weren't to be rules for Christians.

it the same book, it also says to kill our neigbhor if he works on sunday, a woman isn't allowed outside the house while she's on her period, and anything she sits on during that time will need to be de-contaminated, and that goes for her husband too should he accidentally touches her during such a filthy time. It also says people who don't have good vision won't go to heaven either (hope you don't wear glasses, i do, so that counts me out) and last but not least, the very same book says it's ok for dads to sell their own daughters into prostitution.

i make these points merely because you want to bring up a point about pork mentioned in a particular book and i am simply making the point that one should be careful when quoting a bible verse.
its a perfect example of a christian using the bible for whenever it's convienent to do so, but baulk at the stuff they don't agree with. (i am assuming you wouldn't be okay with a dad selling his daughter, or killing his neigbhor.) well why not? it's in the bible.

don't even get me started on the whoever wears clothes made of more than one material is sinning.(theres goes all my poly-rayon blend suits)

I love it when people do this
what if we only picked what we wanted to out of science?
or Out of the Laws of our country?

Continue to read and see if you can find the parts about how all things were made clean

Become a bible scholar really read and study it in all its context read what others have said on such a thing
Read the other adaptations of this
Read all the literature on it then come back with this question

I'm sure I'll get thumbs down for this but If all those who want to point out faults in the bible would really study and understand it there would be less questions like this
I'm not asking you to believe it just understand it
