We are all born into sin. This is a result of the origional sin in the Garden of Eden when the very first man, Adam, chose to disobey God. Then sin entered into the world and the curse of sin. We are all born into this curse. The only atonement for sin is death...and seperation from God. God is Holy. We are sinful...so therein lies the problem. We needed someone to atone for our sins in order to reunite us with God. No one was worthy...it had to be a perfect sacrifice...so God sent His only begotton Son into the world to die in our place. Through His Sacrifice, we are reunited with God.
Hell was created for the devil and his fallen angels...not for humanity. However, it was the devil that caused the fall in the Garden of Eden. Jesus defeated the devil when He died upon the cross and then rose from the dead on the third day.
God never wanted us to go to hell. Hell is a place of seperation from God who is the giver of life...therefore when one is cast into hell...it is called eternal death. This is what happens when we die in our sins without Christ (who died to keep us out of hell).
The devil will not "rule in hell". He knows he is going there to suffer for all eternity for his crimes against the Most High and his creation. Because you were created in God's Image and because God loves you, this is the only way satan can hurt God...by taking you to hell with him. If he can decieve you into denying Christ and not accepting His atonement for your sins...you, too, will die an eternal death in hell. Satan hates God and he hates us because we were made in God's Image.

Again, here's my take on hell:
First off, the burning hell hasn't happened yet. And when it does the lost souls will be burnt and go up in smoke, never to exist again. If you heated up a skillet to a high temperature and dripped a drop of water in it, it just sizzles for a second then is gone forever. That's what will happen to the unsaved souls at the end of this earth age. God will not allow eternal suffering, He will end ALL suffering. So there will be no evil team, or anything negative, or any memories of anything bad. It will be a perfect paradise. In true translation, eternal hell actually means not making it to heaven. Hope this helps.

A Brief History of Hellfire
WHEN did professed Christians adopt the belief in hellfire? Well after the time of Jesus Christ and his apostles. "The Apocalypse of Peter (2nd century C.E.) was the first [apocryphal] Christian work to describe the punishment and tortures of sinners in hell," states the French Encyclopædia Universalis.
Justin Martyr believed that hell was a fiery place
Among the early Church Fathers, however, there was disagreement over hell. Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, and Cyprian believed that hell was a fiery place. Origen and theologian Gregory of Nyssa thought of hell as a place of separation from God—of spiritual suffering. Augustine of Hippo, on the other hand, held that suffering in hell was both spiritual and sensory—a view that gained acceptance. "By the fifth century the stern doctrine that sinners will have no second chance after this life and that the fire which will devour them will never be extinguished was everywhere paramount," wrote Professor J.N.D. Kelly.
Augustine of Hippo taught that suffering in hell was spiritual and physical
In the 16th century, such Protestant reformers as Martin Luther and John Calvin understood the fiery torment of hell to be figurative of spending eternity separated from God. However, the idea of hell as a place of torment returned in the following two centuries. Protestant preacher Jonathan Edwards used to strike fear in the hearts of 18th-century Colonial Americans with graphic portrayals of hell.
Shortly thereafter, though, the flames of hell began to flicker and fade. "The 20th century was nearly the death of hell," states U.S.News & World Report.

What Really Is Hell?
Psalm 146:4 says: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish."
the Bible says: "Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." (Romans 5:12)
Revelation 20:13 states: "The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them."
As Jesus promised, "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus'] voice and come out." (John 5:28, 29)

Psalm 146:4 says: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish." When a person dies, his impersonal spirit does not go on existing in another realm as a spirit creature.This means that any hope of future life for that person now rests entirely with God.
Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 reads: "The dead know nothing . . . In the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." (New International Version) Scripturally, death is a state of nonexistence. The dead have no awareness, no feelings, no thoughts
Since the dead have no conscious existence, hell cannot be a fiery place of torment where the wicked suffer after death.

what will happen to good people of other faiths? or no faith?
Our Heavenly Father has designed a wonderful plan of salvation that provides a glorious reward for all good people. What is more, everyone will have opportunities—in this life, in the spirit world, or during the Millennium—to learn of the gospel in its fulness and to receive the benefit of the ordinances of salvation.
At the end of the Millennium, the resurrection of the unjust will occur. This resurrection includes all the wicked who never accept the gospel and who remain in their sins—those who merit only a telestial glory. (See D&C 76:81–82.) Last to be resurrected are the sons of perdition—those who knew fully the Lord’s power and partook of it, yet turned against the truth, sinned against the testimony of the Holy Ghost, and defied God’s power in order to join Satan’s rebellion. They are the only ones to be cast out with the devil and his angels forever.

im not an active christian but i have studied with catholics, mormons, jehovas witnesses and pentacostles.i think the jws have it right.there is no such thing as hell, that is the catholics (the most pagan and corrupted of all christain religions) way of justifying eternal life. what it means is that you will suffer an eternal death.you will be no more in conciousness or thought.i believe as, do most christians, in a day of reckoning (armageddon)the righteous will live and for the wicked aka you and me we will become no more.there is no hell.thats just a catholic thing made up to make people obey without question and with fear.our death will be absolute.that is the eternal. how can you be worried bout hell if you dont believe in it anyway? its up to you but i would suggest studying up on it

THE BIBLE HELL AND THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH
The nearest I can figure it out, hell [ and hells ], was created by the people and some deserve to go to places they created. Tophet, Gehenna or Valley of the son of Hinnom hell fire, death and burial by fire or burial by fire [ some in human sacrifice in the fire 2Chr.28:1-4];
Jer.7:30.31; 19:2-5; king Josiah turned it into Mark 9:42-48; the city dump, so it counts nothing for apostles of Jesus Matt.10:28;

Its an age old scare tactic used to keep the ignorant in line.
Jesus was a real person and affected mankind like few before him. It doesn't matter whether you believe all the stories about him or not. What matters is the type of person you are inside.

It will be done because of one's tantamount rejection of the blood of Christ shed for the remission of their sins. It's as if they're saying to God in essence that they don't believe in His Son, His sacrifice and etc. and are contemptuously rejecting His offer of salvation!
