Instead of going on a quick fix diet. Try changing your lifestyle. A quick fix diet will make you lose the weight, but in time you will gain it all back once returning to old habits. Exercise is very important. Try to do cardio 3-5 times a week. Running or riding a bicycle is great cardio. Buy healthier food, and when you get the urge to snack; snack on negative calorie foods such as most vegetables. Negative calorie foods mean you pretty much are burning more calories eating the food, than you are consuming. Drink a lot of water. Do not eat before going to bed because you will store all those calories as fat. Buy fat free fudgicles if you get the sweet tooth like I do. Also they make 100 calorie packs with a lot of your typical comfort snacks. One more thing is portion control. Eat smaller portions of food, but eat more often throughout the day. That will keep your metabolism running smoothly.

What is your goal? What do you imagine when you think of the "perfect you"?
AND
HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
If you have an image of how you want to look, and you want to achieve that image bad enough, then I can help you. Otherwise all the best information you get here will be useless.
Let's assume you want to be the best you.
1. Diet - I'm betting that if you're 280lbs you consume thousands of calories a day. And probably mostly from the wrong foods.
You need to cut your calories, but don't over do it. Try to cut your calorie intake by about 500 calories a day. That's 3,500 calories a week, which equals about 1lb of body weight. 1lb of weight loss/week is sustainable (ie no putting on 60 -70lbs in a few months).
Lay off the junk food, and try to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables, and more lean meat.
2. Exercise
There are two components to exercise that you need to address. First is resistence training (weights). By lifting weights you create muscle, and muscle burns calories. Muscle also looks better than fat, and it will make you look less "flabby". Sure muscle weighs more than fat, but it's healthy weight.
The second is aerobic exercise (cardio is the new buzz word). At 280lbs you probably want to keep the exercise intensity lower. Try walking to start. It's low impact, low intensity, and doable. By keeping the intensity lower will also increase the number of Mitochondria in your cells. Mitochondria are where energy is produced in the body. The more Mitochondria you have, the higher your base metabolic rate. That means your body will burn more calories while you're doing nothing.
If you do those three things (Food, resistence training, aerobic training) you will lose weight, feel healthier, and look better.
BTW - Reward yourself along the way. If you set a goal to be Xlbs by a certain date and you make it. Buy yourself that new outfit, or do something that makes you feel good (DO NOT REWARD YOURSELF WITH FOOD).
When you achieve your ultimate goal, reward yourself again.
Good Luck.

First thing you need to do is change your eating habits. The special K cereal is a good start, but that is not all you can eat. Try eating five smaller meals throughout the day. For example eat oatmeal for breakfast, try to get a snack in before lunch, like an apple, then for lunch try to eat chicken or fish on a salad, then another snack- fruit or veggies, and then for dinner try a lean cuisine. You may not be hungry to eat all the time, but it will speed up your metabolism and help you to lose weight. Also drink a lot of water, this will help you feel full throughout the day. This should help you get healty and lose weight. Also try walking 20-30 minutes as many days as you can a week, this will help, but the diet is the most important right now. Good luck, I know it will be hard, but you can do it!!

Eat 8 small meals a day. (very small) to boost your metabolism. And walk walk walk. Make the effort to make healthy choices and NO SUGAR. Use sweetener. And if you must have those sweets, there are dozens of sugarfree snacks. But if you eat too many you get diarrhea. (So watch it). Put some pictures on your refridgerator and cabinets of models (magazines, etc.) that you would like to look like. Then when you go to grab that snack you don't need, you see them looking at you! Worked for me!!! Good luck and don't let all these negative idiots who've never struggled with weight get you down. You cannot stop what works for you. YOU MUST ADOPT IT AND INCORPORATE IT INTO YOUR LIFESTYLE FOREVER!!! Get inside your own head first and convince yourself that YOU CAN do this!! If your health is failing, go to bariatric seminar. It's not as risky as it once was and they do hundreds of surgeries per year......Good luck dear!!

If feel comfortable, go to a gym and lift weights. Walk if you can to the gym and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Or, buy a set of free standing weights in 3 sizes at first. 5lbs, 10 and 20 lbs. Lift the smallest set you first. Rest. Lift the second smallest. Rest and then the heaviest. Rest and do it again. Stop. Rest about a minute. Start with 3 sets of weight sizes you are comfortable with. As you get stronger, buy a heavier weight. DO MALE PUSH-UPS. You won't be able to do much at first but with weight lifting and practice you will. Upper arm strength in a woman is weak and making it stronger gives you a longer stride and more confidence and toner arms.

- Drink lots of water
- 5-6 small meals each day (fist-sized portions if having rice, pasta, etc). Eat every 2-3 hours
- DO NOT eat after 7:30 PM (this is the hardest)
- If you feel hungry, drink water and wait 15 mins. If still hungry, grab some carrots.
- LIMIT/AVOID rice, pasta, potatoes
- Try the Birmingham diet (I heard it really works.. BUT YOU HAVE TO STRICTLY FOLLOW IT because it's all based on chemicals or something .. http://www.wwltv.com/medical/stories/wwl052307jbdiet.36d61b2.html)

This time you need to do it the right way. Start by looking at your eating habits and try to change at least one thing per week. Take it slowly and don't rush through it because it won't last. I lost 86lbs 3 years ago. It took me 2 years to do it, but I have kept it off and have good eating habits. I used to be a big junk food and fried food eater. I was addicted to sugar. Please go to this website, I think this might be what you are looking for.......radiantrecovery.com. I wish you the best. Do this for yourself you deserve it.........

Try walking.... thats the best exercise to burn calories. Just make sure that you have your heart rate up. Leisure walking won't do it.
I have a treadmill and I usually try to walk on the 4 setting. This gets your heart rate up to burn fat. It has taken me some time to get to walk at this rate and feel comfortable. A girl I work w/ has walked for 2 months and lost her hip fat. She was going to the gym 3 days a week and walking for 40 minutes and it only took her 2 months. I was like cool now I have hope and mine will come off too.
Good Luck

Burn more cal than what you intake, Drink iced water before and after each meal. This will also help with over eating, and when the water is chilled your body will burn more cal to warm it up. Eat healthier and exercise, and exercise start slow as simple as walking. Eat more often but make the meals smaller and again drink more water.
