I have a family that seems to never call me until there is a holiday or an event that has me spending money. I got no call for Easter Thanksgiving or New Years. But the call came in when it was time for Graduation and Christmas. There is only one sister who remembers my Birthday. I am not going to there little party this year how should I tell them. Or do I just not send them any thing at all. You see I don't care any more.

No I have not told them how I feel because they will only feel it is all my fault that I feel this way. I tried to tell one of them and it went really badly. I am just to the point that I really don't care any more.

Yes I called them and I never missed a birthday, I never missed a Holiday, I never missed an event.
Then one day I woke up. I never got calls in return. I did not hear from them or their children until they wanted some thing. So I stopped calling them and did not get any phone calls for over a year. I got a Christmas card telling me what to bring and where to be for The gift giving. So yes I just gave up.

Have you ever told them how you feel? I would tell them how you feel and give them a chance.

OR

Do you know for certain they just don't care about you - then you are doing the right thing by not going or not buying anything.

If I were you, I would tell them how I feel and also not buy them anything more than a $10 giftcard to a bookstore. That way, you won't get the guilt feeling that comes with cutting your family off.

You never mentioned whether you had ever called them. It takes both sides & you might have to make more of an effort in the beginning.

Give them your Christmas list and tell them they can just mail the gifts to you.
