This is a hard one for me. My family has some 'Christians' in it. I tried to keep in touch with one, my Aunt Carol... But because I didn't go to HER kind of church, or believe in exactly what she believed she got very angry and I had to stop the emails. I have high morals and ethics, but simply can't stop doing things like dancing, listening to rock music, being an accepting person, or letting people have choices.
To me a Christian is SHOWING good will, NOT telling it. Jesus told the people he helped (like those he healed) NOT to tell anyone so people wouldn't follow him for that. Most 'Christians' I know I'd just like to tell, "Shut up!" and that saddens me.

There's a very wide spectrum of Christian faiths, but only a very slim percentage of them are hostile towards others....
It's very heart wrenching sometimes to witness the horrible insults Christians endure on this, the Religion and Spirituality forum...
Especially, when you see those who are trying to answer here objectively or with a loving and open mind...
There really should be a seperate HATE SPEECH forum for those who can do nothing but insult and try to provoke descent people.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

A Christian is one who believes in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for us. A Christian is a follower of Jesus.
Jesus died to take our sins opon Himself so he can join Him in Heaven one day and Not go to a place called Hell. In Hell, you are compleatly alone and won't be having a "party with your friends" as some people think. The party will be in Heaven.
If you need more info email me and I can help you out. I'd hate to see anyone in Hell and not know Jesus as their Savior.

A Christian is someone who belongs to the Christian faith and spreads the goodness of his or her God in word and in deed.. Or at least, CLAIMS to do so. The second type is much more common nowadays, unfortunately.

A Christian is someone who has been raised from childhood to believe there is a god and that a man named Jesus is not only god's son, but is also god, along with a third piece called the holy spirit. As with members of any religion, Christians believe their religion is the only true faith. They're very open to delusion and close-minded about facts.

Christians are people who believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior, because Jesus died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for their sin, and thereby saving them from any punishment they deserved for it.
That is the basic tenet of the Christian faith.

You are trying to relate two different things as one. The reason why people post questions with Christians only is because MOST of they are too scared to hear the opinions of us Atheists. For some reason MOST of they think that R&S is exclusively for them amongst other things.

A person who has made the conscious choice to accept Jesus as the Son of God who died for their sins so they would have the ability to go to heaven. This person also has given God charge of their life and endeavors to live a life that honors Him through His help.

Jesus clearly defined it as a person who has had a second birth, a spiritual birth as well as a physical birth. You become a true Christian when God accepts you and places His Spirit in you after you confess Him as Lord based on your belief in His death burial and resurrection.
