isn't 'former atheist' a contradiction in terms?

There is the concept or idea of god, thats real. There is no such thing as a real god. So a former atheist is simply someone who has become confused as to the distinction between the two.

...What proof can you give that there's no such thing as God?
...1. How much of all knowledge do you know? Only a very minute bit, right?
...2. Since you know only a minute bit of knowledge, how can you be sure there is no God?
...Did you ever read "The Case for Faith" or "The Case for Christ" by Lee Stroebel? He was an atheist and examined the evidence for Christianity, trying to disprove it. How much real study have you done on the evidence for Christianity? If you believe yourself objective, I challenge you to investigate the claims of Christ for yourself. He is God and has explained God.
...Jesus Christ claimed to be God in the flesh and the only way to God - who is He to you?
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved. Acts 16:31
...Whosoever will, may come.

No, the opposite of "former" would be "subsequent", not "atheist", so "former atheist" is not a contradiction in terms. It's simply a description of someone who used to believe as you do.

How did you come to that conclusion?
Did you have kelp?
Is it not a leap of faith to disprove something you know nothing about.
You can make a rational statement on the basis of observations that has been made. No one has made an observation of God doing something that we all can agree. But that does not prove that he is not there.
If a tree falls in forest, when no one is present, or any recording device is there does it make noise. You can not answer that truthfully.

Not at all. Someone could be an atheist and then decide to believe in a god and adopt some form of religion. Then that person would be a former atheist, would he not? And, honestly, I don't believe this happens nearly as often as the believers claim. Why would someone choose ignorance over knowledge, once he had that knowledge?

Nope, just the cold hard truth that some atheists are intelligent enough to learn that there is really an awesome God !!!!

And nobody here is dumb enough to believe you are atheist either. No REAL atheist would ever spend so much time in a religious site.

No because when one says they are a former atheist they are saying they used to not believe in any sort of deity now they do.

No, because there's still such a thing as religion.

(Though I do love how they feel they speak for all atheists after they convert. I don't know any atheist who feels that they speak for all atheists.)

I'd like to really analyze a "former atheist", as most of them tend to have not really formed an informed opinion i.e. they were just in the human default state.
