The 25 points would only be awarded if the poll winner earns the poll. if qualifing is rained out the points leader gets the poll but not the 25 bonus points because he did not earn the poll thru qualifing. I think this would keep the points closer and you would not have a run away leader like you have had in the past.

The reward for getting Pole is that you get to pick your pit stall first, bonus money and you are able to race in the Bud Shootout. I think if you want to give Pole points you would have to give some points to the rest of the top ten as well. And NASCAR has problem with consistency that unless you can award the points every week (rained out qualifying), I don't see it every working.

I belive the pole winner should get 5 points, not 25, as thats a bit too much. I also agree with that too, if qualifying is rained out, then the 5 points is off the table, as it would then be nothing more than the points leader taking advantage of the situation.

I think that the pole winner should get something, but 25 points is a bit excessive IMO. I'd like to see a 5 point bonus for the pole and another 5 point bonus if you win from the pole. That would raise the maximum amount of points a driver could get to 205 points a race, which would be about 35 more points than the 2nd place car, assuiming that the 2nd place car did not lead a lap.

Wouldn't work with the top 35 rule and impound races not all the teams are entering qualifying with the same goal. Depending on the track or if the race starts under yellow the pole sitter is in line to lead the first lap and get bonus points that way.

I don't think you need a bonus for the pole position because you already get an advantage by starting the race in first place and would get 5 bonus points for leading the first lap anyways.

I think a 25 point bonus for WINNING the race would be great and an incentive to try to win every race instead of just sitting back and being happy to finish in the top five.

No. If you were going to do it for one race you would have to do it for every race. Since several of the quals are rained out during the season you couldn't fairly award points to a poll winner, only a points leader. And my driver wins 5-8 polls every year, I still don't like the idea.

I think 25 is to much.
I think they should get 5 for leading a lap(like it is)
And another 10 for leading the most instead of getting 5 for leading the most laps.
And 5 or 10 for Pole award.
I would also maybe like to see them give out some points maybe for the driver that gains the most spots in a race too

I don't think it's going to make the standings any closer but I'd go along with 5 bonus points for the pole provided it isn't rained out. However, last year Jimmie and Jeff would have had even bigger leads with this bonus. Jeff must have had 3 or 4 without the rain poles and Jimmie had 4. BTW, Ryan Newman started lobbying for this bonus 4 years ago.

I think they should get some bonus points but not sure about 25 but maybe 25 isn't too high considering how many points are seperated between 1st & 10th. Not enough.

25 points is way to many--considering at the start of the 10 chase races you receive only 10 points for your previous wins. But the Idea is a good one. I would say 5 points and 5 points more if you win the race for a possible 10 points for the pole position!!!!!
