I don't know these steps....but, I felt that way the longest about getting accepted for publication in writing.

Self-respect, self-esteem, knowledge(mostly from other critics) that it was only a matter of a short time until success came knocking(they were right).

Take a look around at other people who are trying the same thing as you are....can you do it better than them? You have to be completely honest with yourself when you answer THAT question! This is NOT an ego-oriented question, either. Just yes or no.

I could NEVER design a bridge. I know that for a certainty. I accept it as fact. I APPLAUD the people who can!!!!! That is their domain...not mine. Accepted!

It's knowing your best talents and using them, instead of plodding away at one where you have not acknowledged you do not have a 100% profiency in....spelling hits the skids when I'm not cofffeeedddd!!!!!

Buying David Burns' book: "The Feeling Good Handbook". He has recipes for overcoming all kinds of mental disorders including fear of failure. It's all about reprogramming your subconscious mind to furnish your conscious mind with postive energy and confidence. Hell, if it cured me of suicidal depression, beating the fear of failure ought to be a cakewalk.

Take small steps in the direction of your fear. Everytime you succeed you will feel empowered. You must also continually tell yourself that you CAN do it. You are strong, you are empowered, you can achieve this! Positive thinking and attitude can help you acheive much that you thought was impossible.

well avoid taking to the people that say you can't do something. because there are the real failures, remember you can do what ever you want, and never tell yourself to can't do something.
