Its funny you say that. I go to school every day and I will see a bunch of guys with their shorts 'low riding'and their boxers hanging out. It's disgusting. I really don't want to know what kind of underwear these boys wear. There was a funny time though when a boys was 'low riding' and his pants fell to his ankles and he fell over. It was so funny and I got a picture of it on my cellphone. I can safely say that the boy never 'low rode' again.

Kids do it because they see other kids do it. They think it is cool, but it is actually very ugly, in bad taste, and like you say very stupid. I have actually seen a teenage boy trying to mow the lawn while holding his pants up with his other hand, if he had let go; then his pants would have fallen to the ground. Why don't they just pull them up and put a belt on to hold them in place? Or, do they actually like showing their nakedness?

Who knows where these weird fads come from, like wearing jeans with holes in the knees and seat. If we had worn something like that when I was a kid, I would have been made fun of by everyone. Now it is considered very in style and cool.

They get a lot from movies, style magazine, and Hollywood decides the trends these days. What ever it is that is seems to be unacceptable to adults, most teens just love it! I guess you could call that rebellion.

Nope, they have no clue how stupid it looks.
My husband found out how this all came about.
Apparently when a male is sent to prison, they are not allowed belts for their pants, so the pants would fall almost down to the knees.
Kids these days associate it with being a bad boy and it is a show off that they can be bad. Though, I don't think many kids realize how this fad all came about.
I think it is horrible and disgraceful.

Nope, just as older people who where them to their nipples do not realize it looks odd. But hey, to each it's own right? There's been bell-bottoms that you could (and probably did) trip over, the duck's *** (DA) hairstyle, the slammed against the windshield bangs, big hair, pants so tight there was no privacy left, guys wearing make-up (and not of the feminine nature or drag queen), tube tops, leg warmers, buttless chaps, and the list goes on. We all look like fools to others from time to time, we all dress thoroughly fudged up for no other reason than to tick our parents off at one time, we all have dressed in the oddest fashions if for no other reason then because we are bored.
If you are older, as I am, pull out the year book and then ask yourself,"Why didn't anyone tell me how stupid I looked. Oh....wait...."so-and-so" did, I just thought they were full of it."

Edit: Oh, man, I can not believe I forgot to add this one....the mullet (I think that's how it is spelled). That one was and is too much...lol. My ex-husband and his g/f at the time both shared it. Bet you had one, didn't you? (j/k)lol

styles change over the years...I don't know how old you are but I'm pretty sure that your parents or adults back when you were younger probably said things about the way you and your friends dressed and wore your hair...I was an 80s early 90a kid...need I go on? lol If you don't like the style then don't wear it...don't let your kids do it...but you can't govern the wear of others...you juat have to deal with it...if they are comfortable looking "stupid", as you say, then let them look stupid...lol

Fashion trends! I remember wearing net shirts with black bras to be like Madonna - Ugh! Or spandex and puffy hair. We all go through these fads and survive while adults look at us like we are crazy. This too shall pass. Just smile and think back to another era and what kids were wearing then.

You must be getting old.

No worse than wearing blue jeans and t-shirt to show you were an individual or whatever it was.

we actually wonder how many are going to end up with kidney damage later in life from all the exposed midriffs we see around.

AAAARRRRGH, its catching. now I'm doing it {:-).

Actually, Socrates is the first on record that I know of whinging about kids.

If I had lowered my pants, my dad would have taken off his belt and whipped my A**! And that's exactly what I'll do to my son.
But I guess most of you will think that's wrong! I'll be seeing your sons in prison.

haha yeah. It looks like they just look a S**t on themselves. Not even kids, but I've seen adults in their 20's wearing pants like that. It looks very unproffesional and no one will take them serious.
