i have discussed it with doctors
fully researched into it for months
and my parents are contacting someone who went through with the treatment

i may add
that i will lose £560 if it doesnt work out
and my confidence, i will be absolutly devastated if it didnt work out

I've heard of lightning therapy used for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), but not for chronic fatigue. I suppose it might help in a similar way, though, as light affect the production of melatonin in humans (and many other mammals), which in turn affect level of energy/awakeness (it's really very logical, our bodies, as creatures with limited vision in darkness, are simply designed to use the light hours effectively, and to doze off when lack of light prevent us from doing much of anything, quite the opposite of how nocturnal animals function).

But now to your real question ; ) I think it's perfectly normal to be scared that the treatment won't work - that's exactly what keeps many people with depression from getting help (as long as they don't try any treatment, that's still an option, but if they try it and it doesn't work, where does that leave them?). I think many, if not most, people have the same worries about treatment for any kind of ailment, illness or injury, physical or psychological . Sure, it may not be rational - but then again, emotions rarely are.

Go to your treatment, try not to worry to much about this fear, and, from me to you, may you have the best of luck!

It is perfectly ok, even normal to be worried as of course you want to get better. The important thing is to go in there with a positive mind, there are far more people for whom it does work than for whom it does not and you have every chance of being in the positive group. You're being brave and that naturally comes with some nerves and whilst there are no guarantees, you have as much a chance as anyone who goes in and the odds are in your favour.

Before I would undergo a treatment that's off the mainstream, I would talk to my doctor(s) and get their opinions. I would also research the process fully and see who recommends it.
Then I could make an informed, rational decision that reflects more than just being desperate to get better.

It's only natural to be worried welsh but if it's helped others chances are it will help you as well and if you don't go for it you won't know hun. Although I understand your concern that at £650 it's a lot to lose if it doesn't. But think positive.

Try to stay positive - I know it's not easy. At least you have nothing to lose by going for this treatment, so you can reassure yourself with that.
Good luck I hope it works for you.
