It's never too late to change your life. One of the good things in your situation is that you already have a job so you're not desperate. You don't have to accept a job that doesn't seem to be quite right for you. Another is that you're in an entry level position so if you move to an entry level position elsewhere you probably won't have to deal with a big pay cut. This is my problem, I'd like a change too but can't afford a pay cut right now.
Remember, if it was always good they wouldn't call it work. Very few people are lucky enough to LOVE their job but even if you don't find something that's truly satisfying you can always do volunteer work for a few hours a week. I do a lot of work with kids sports and find that being involved with something that keeps kids active and out of trouble really makes me feel good about contributing to my community.
Most important, stop being negative. If you don't like something in your life, only you can change it. Decide what you want, make a plan and go for it!
Good luck.

Alot of people feel the same way.If you want to make a decent wage you put up with the boredom.Alot of people would love to work with animals etc and get job satisfaction etc but the pay is very low and there's alot of competition. Wages have been frozen for years in most jobs aswell.
What do you mean you left it too late?? You're ONLY 26!!!! I'm 40+ and thinking of studying for a new career!
Even if you train to work with animals you'll be up against people with qualifications paid at the minimum wage!
Alot of us are in the same situation.

I'm sorry but when were you planning on giving up work entirely?
Unless you've got an extremely rich fiance who earns enough for you not to have to work (in which case why are you worried!) then you are going to need to work until you're about 60, maybe longer.
That's another 34 years worth of work (say 24 if you take 10 years off to have kids) That's almost your entire life all over again...
So I think a change of career would be absolutely fine.
My sister in law is doing a university course in her spare time now so she can go back to work and have a good career and she's 34. It's never too late.
Stir your stumps and do something positive!

Maybe you could go to a placement agency and see what's available immediately and what you're already qualified for so you don't have to spend a long time training. Perhaps you could work at an animal hospital or shelter or pet store, maybe handling clerical or front desk duties since you have secretarial experience. Or go on monster.com and apply for things that look interesting or just check what the job requirements are and see what you can accomplish in a short amount of time or what you are already qualified for.

How about a classroom assistant? You have time to train for it and it can fit around your children when they come along. You can always use a childminder or nursery and claim child tax credits, they are not the end of the world. You could work part time too.
I am 37 with 2 kids and went back to college recently and gained 3 new qualifications. It can be done. Have a look at your local college prospectus and see what takes your fancy.

First of all, you're not too old to consider training. I went back to school at 25, after being bored to tears at my old job. 25 or 26 is all the same. I was married at the time too.
If you don't want to go to school, try and see if you can find administrative position wich is more like management than paper pushing. For example, Student Manager at a college. Say, you're managing a group of undergraduates at Math department. You'd have to send them announcements if there is a new course available, answer questions on where to find this or that materials, assign them into discussion sections, send e-mails looking for tutors or teachers, help them resolve all sorts of administrative issues. It is a lot more interesting and rewarding than pushing papers. You can get promoted to manage larger groups or work for larger departments.
I'm still in school BTW. All students say that our Student Manager has a magic wand. All the issues thal look entangled get resolved easily once we ask her for assistance.

you go with some skills to pass on. Uni isn't the only direction of examine. right here in Australia we've the TAFE (technical and extra training) gadget, the place you could study finished or section time especially profession furthering study, somewhat than generalistic Uni study. i do no longer understand in case you have this style of element available the place you're, yet once you do it would be priceless investigating. It does no longer be a geat concept to alter jobs in those uncertain time, yet you need to surely study for a destiny profession for whilst issues %. up.

Get out of your job!
It's never too late at all. Just sort your CV/resume out and start sending it through to recruitment agencies that deal with the charity sector.
Good luck!

routine can be depressing. if you are okay financially, go back to school and become a vet or try to find a job at your local zoo.....or become a curator at the museum that has animal painting display etc
