Science: Look at facts in reality, conclude a logical conclusion.
Religion: Disregard science, logic, ect, and make something up that sounds good and fits my agenda.
Who would believe that crap?

I never began to believe in God based on hearsay. I looked at Genesis and saw it as being a well documented work, verified by much archeological evidence and accepted even today as the word of God by the Jews.
But the biggest thing that drew me to believe in God was the creation story in Gen. I was always a firm believer in evolution and still am. I said to myself, "How could Moses, a man that live 3,400 yrs ago have know what scientists have just discovered in the last 120 years about the order in which life was created? There is no way he could have.
And now, because I have believed in him for so long, I have much to look back on that He has done in my life that convinced me that He is real and really loves us, even miracles He has done. So please don't be gullible enough to believe that we are that stupid to believe in something that has no evidence. The evidence is there and over time increases if you are opened to it.

Would you be able to convince Paul? What makes you think people haven't seen and heard? You need to do a little in depth study. How scientific is it that scum, primeodeal or not, can bring forth life? If then, why not now? What is not scientific about the universe working in perfect harmony. Religion is scientific to the nth degree. The lord deals in absolute truth and nothing else and that is true science. If you can kid the guy in the glass, you haven't much chance to learn truth.

Is it not absolutely stupid to believe things solely on others hearsay and with out any evidence?
You mean like . . . General Relativity?
Physicists say they have observed the evidence for it, but I never have! I have to take their word for it, which, according to you, is hearsay.
I know not the first thing about cardiac surgery, but I trust the expertise and knowledge of a first-rate cardiac surgeon to slice me open and repair my damaged heart.
But, then again, maybe that's because I am a Catholic, and have been accustomed to trusting experts without my own personal first-hand knowledge: I trust our own theologians and priests, as well as cardiologists, botanists, public health experts, highway engineers, architects, pharmaceutical manufacturers, airline technicians and mechanics, seat belt manufacturers . . .

This is why they get them young. Just as we don't remember learning to talk, we don't remember learning about gods. Some of us were lucky not to have had this early god belief thrust upon us, others manage to escape from it. Some just accept it because they like the things it offers or they are not capable of seeing it for what it is.

Of course we all have doubts. In fact where things spiriual are concerned I've come to the conclusion that there are onlu three things that I'm sure of ; 1) ther is a god, 2) there is a continuation of life, 3) and what we do here matters. After that I' not sure of anything else

not if you are a relaxed empiricist.
As the Prophet Bill Bailey (oh well he's not really a prophet, but he's funny) says:
An empiricist is someone who has to SEE it to Believe it. A relaxed empiricist is someone who will believe it if someone that they are friends with and that they trust say 'that is pretty much what happened'
It doesn't work with religion though, because you are not 'friends' with the bible, nor are you 'friends' with 'god'. Friendship works both ways, it is an interaction. If you are interacting with 'god' then I think you need to go to a psychiatrist.

yes, its stupid to belive things solely based on what others tell you without evidence.
why do you assume that belief in God is inherently as such?
have you considered the possibility that people experience things that lead them to belive in God?
I mean, is it really any MORE intelligent to believe that there is NO God, or that people DO NOT experience evidence, personally, just because you have not experienced it?

have you ever seen Napoleon or distinguished oxygen fronm Helium or seen Goerge Washington or were you there on your birthday...lots of things we believe from others, ... your objection is lacking inintelligence. we believe lots of things by hearsay the important thing is the credibility of the one who gives us the messege. also, if you read well there are excessive proofs of God's existence, just open your eyes, read and don't close your mind, it is foolish to miss the obvious.
