I live in the north east of England.

I don't know what you mean by nation? The English nation, the Geordies are strong in the north east of England.

Why do you regard immigration as a problem? immigration is good (and I'm not being politically correct). Why look for a solution? the Polish of the present will behave like the Pakistanis of the past. They will have children who will regard themselves as British (and some of these children will do very well, Cambridge etc and forty years from now will be MPs and Cabinet ministers) meanwhile the parents will retire back to Poland.

If the economy was to go bad and unemployment return to three million, as it was in the 1980s, the Polish immigrants would be the first to go, but we would get to keep all of the houses and the rest that they have built in the meantime!

Immigrants are invariably young and strong. The weak and stupid stay at home.

They do not steal jobs. How is it that we can have unemployment and at the same time immigrants can arrive and find work? The answer is that jobs do exist in the UK but the British don't want to do these jobs, the jobs are too physically demanding for the British and/or the British regard these jobs as being beneath them. Meanwhile the Poles generate wealth and pay taxes. You should be grateful to them for, but for them, your tax burden in respect of job seekers allowance, would be greater.

I believe in an open door policy. Quotas are ridiculous even evil. It would not matter what the figure was 15,000 or 50,000 (Indian Doctors for example) per year. How dare we cream off the worlds intelligensia just for our economic benifit. The job should belong to the best candidate even if he's Mongolian and the result will be that we will benifit, in the manner of Adam Smith and the 'invisible hand' (controling the economy), the moment you start regulating things it all starts going 'pear shaped'.

I would guess that you have not suffered directly as a resuld of immigration. So embrace them, don't be shy or put off by their accent they are the same as you. Say hello and you'll probably find that their response is more pleasant than what you would get from the average Brit.

I live in Arkansas. There is a growing latino population in my area. As long as people see a better chance for improvement of their lives somewhere else there will always be immigration.

As long as the US Government doesn't spend the money to control the borders and deport those who overstay their visas we will have illegals. The reason we don't have a heavy North Korean or African inflow of illegals is we don't have a common border with them.

What many forget is our ancestors came here for the same reasons many latinos do. The possibility of a better life. Some went through filling out all the forms and jumping through the hoops in later years others just came here before the hoops were there.

The solution is simple. Get a handle on immigration. We have the laws already in place. Just inforce them. Right now we don't have the money OR manpower necessary to remove all the 12-20 million illegals in the country. But government COULD stop or at least slow the flow.

How much money is being spent screening at airports? What good is it doing really? Wouldn't that money be better spent controlling borders and catching people who overstay their visas? As far as those who are already in the country and have been for some time, if they don't get into trouble with the law, don't do anything about them. If they do get into trouble, deport them. And if the ACLU gets in the way send them along with the deportees.

There has to be a definite distinction between legal and illegal immigration. The U.K. has ALWAYS had a fairly open policy towards immigrants and should be proud that it is still the highest intake land in Europe.

However, the policies of successive governments has been to restrict immigration more and more, which goes completely against what this country has fought countless times for against numerous dictators. We should never forget to which country the governments of Norway, Poland, Belgium, etc came as World War II started.

Immigration will always take place where one or more countries are richer than others. Therefore, the only solution to immigration, or its curtailment, is that absolute ideal of socialism - the even and equal spread of wealth between nations. In other words, never!

This nation was built on immigration. Everyone came here from somewhere else. All of us. There are many immigrants who work very hard and who work for a fraction of the income that we are willing to work for, just for a 'shot' at the American Dream. One of the saddest stories I heard was of a dishwasher who saved over $50,000 (who among us can say that!) He wanted to buy a home for his mother in his Central American country. When he tried to go back there, with the cash, the American Govt confiscated it. A mere dishwasher wanting to make his mother's life better, not by dealing drugs and our govt stole it from it. We are a pathetic government.

We don't want to work for $5/hr, but we chastise those who do want to come here and work for that. We are hypocrits for sure, and a very selfish society.

Greed. Competition with rival would be super powers determines the need for cheap manpower. The economies of other nations are engineered into near insolvency, bringing said country to its knees. This induces a state of mass flight to seek economic salvation for said citizens. Ethical globalization means each nation fruitioning and prospering in direct relation to its population. What man desires to leave his motherland and live amongst largely hostile and feeling besieged indigenous natives. The lunatics have taken over the world asylum. At a time when the human spirit strives to find its personal peace and harmony within their own homes and families because a lack of communication the people feel beset by foreigners who they cannot communicate with and dont have any affinity with whatsoever. Hell. Caused by Hell for Hell to Prosper and Heathens to thrive at the expense of global and domestic, social peace.

If it ends it's America's economic downfall. Our economy stops growing. PERIOD , THE END, OVER! John McCain has been for sealing the border except our wonderfully Democratic lead Congress wouldn't go for that. Alieninating the the illegals would be their political demise. The Democrats never ending thirst for more power has over shadowed their American ideals for a better and more prosperous country. SEAL THE BORDER FIRST!!!! This is a step by step process. It is elementary for crying out loud, slip in the Democrats thoughts of the future and it is turned into astrophysics.

Sure - enforce current laws and pass new legislation for a moratorium on all immigration. These people have to fix their own countries. My ancestors went through hell to help settle the US, why can't they do the same in their own countries.

Globalization and the new world order has got to be stopped.

I assume you mean illegal immigrants not immigrants, afterall what would be the outcome of indian and african doctors and nurses not being able to come over to the UK to work in our undermaned healthservice? A social disaster is the answer.

Well the population of great britain is 60,000,000+

The number of illegal immigrants in 570,000 according to recent bbc reports.

Thats approximately one illegal for every 120 people

So the real solution is, people need to start putting illegal immigration in context and realising its not as big a problem as we think. Every non-white person you see in the street is not an illegal immigrant, most are part of well intergrated families who have lived here for many decades dating back to slavery and the British Empire.

if the indigeous Europeans do not change mentality, we can't get to the solution, because most are in denial of the problem or at least the cause of the problem.

The leftists needs to apologize to the rightists and let them take over, they possess the right mentality to take the right ACTION (no guilt feelings for showing selfrespect, no fear for being called a racist, not allowing any manipulative behaviour from other cultures, drawing the line clearly)
