The Holy Bible is not polluted with mankind. That is what the devil wants everyone to think. The Holy Bible has stood the test of time. It has proven itself may times over, in the last 4000 years. Over 4000 years. There are books written by scientist who proved the stories in the Holy Bible. Such as Noah's Flood, Sodom & Gommarah, when God rained fire and brimstone down on Egypt in Moses time, and so on. The book is Hally's Bible Handbook.

I think you are mistaken. The New Testament speaks of itself, saying every word of the Bible is "God breathed", meaning it is inspired by God Himself.

Can you imagine God not protecting His written communication to us? Why would He allow it to be corrupted? He wouldn't allow it to be corrupted. It is part of the way He communicates with us. I have found it consistent in view and in what it tells us to do. You may need to take a bible course that tells you how to understand the Word. Some parts are historical, some are poetry, some are prophetic, some are wisdom teachings.

Can I ask you how much you have read the Bible? If you haven't read its entirety for yourself, how can you be so certain it is "polluted"? I honestly Believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. I've read it completely multiple times and certain parts of it many times. It has done very much to teach me, correct my mistakes and build me up as a Christian. God only gives good gifts and the Bible is one of the best of His good gifts.

there is a branch of investigation for the reliability of the scriptures called apolgetics. in this, the most ancient of texts are compared to the modern texts and history and other things are all examined to include money used and the value of it. (it is an extensive examination of the bible, that tests the bible in everyway, shape and form.

a good book to start with that will allow you to look through the examination is called evidence that demands a verdict, by josh mcdowell.

no other religious book can withstand the level of examination that the bible has been through.

one scholar who spent a lifetime studying the bible wrote, the bible as a written history stands the most exhaustive of tests and where a problem exists, it is in words, usually names and is usually a debate over one letter or another comprising less than 1% of the text. (paraphrased)

if the bible is God's book, it should stand up the hottest fire of examination it can take, and it does.

faith come by hearing, hearing of the word of God, now, go and see if these things are not true that your faith may be complete

You are absolutely right. Your soul must have received communication from Almighty God. Many people feel like you.

In fact Bible was written atleast 90 years after Christ. Then there were many changes made. Even before 100 years or less. How can a book which changes over time be a book of
God.

Try holy Quran, atleast for once. It has not changed at all.
Every single word is the same. And it is a living book. Whatever your questions might be, you will invariably get an
answer for them. Its language, its style and logic will lead you
to believe that it is the ultimate truth.

Recently a man of similar background, read Quran and he
was so impressed that he finished it in one sitting. He said
it is vibrant and beautiful, as a work of art.

See for yourself. Pickhtel, Muhammad Asad and Yousuf Ali are good translators.

Good Morning Michele, I agree with you on knowing God, and even excepting Jesus as my personal savior. I believe the bible to be a collection of boOKs of the times. Like many history books on a shelf, you pick one and your ok, but two and you may loose site of the message.

I was lucky to have a minister that spoke and reads in about 4 languages, so he reads from the different text and then give us what he believes to be the message. I don't think that is any different then me using the bible as a "book of history" and learning it good and bad points in time.

I need more paper to cover the Church in its growth and today! LOL

Dear Michelle, the Bible is the written word of God and though man has interpreted it in many ways if you believe in him then his word will never lead you down the wrong path, also continue to read it develops a stronger relationship with God, my saying to you is Believers never Doubt none Believers are always ready to Shout ,because they want people to see them as a Christian, remember Jesus said no one comes of the Father but through Me,and who so ever believeth in him shall have everlasting life, along with all the promises God made fo your life, so keep the faith and believe in his word. The Devil is always busy in our lives that's the doubt we feel because he wants you to not trust in God's word so your life is filled with struggles and pain.

Of course the two ideas have no logical relationship to one another.

But I would be curious where you learned your idea of God. There are many ways of having a personal relationship to God: Hindu chosen deities, American Indian animal guides.

Secularist that I am, I tend to believe in some sort of projection from my unconscious that guides me. But I do not believe in a unified "self". Call me crazy!!

Forgive me if I a wrong, but what I suspect is that you learned your idea of God from Christian religious sources, like hymns or gospel songs, devotional writings, Christian fiction, sermons in Church. These sources have a historical relationship to what is in the Bible, but often when you go back to the Bible itself, one has a hard time seeing in it the ideas gleaned from those other sources (frequently because those ideas are not there).

I have been in the exact situation as you. Brought up Christian, believing in God or at least a 'higher being,' but questioning the polluted words of the Bible it's self.

I simply state now that I am now Agnostic; simply meaning what you just stated:

I believe in God, but am not sure how the whole thing works.

The bible is complete horseshyt, heavily edited, censored, and filled with absolutely stupid creation myths.that is the cold truth of the case.this doesn't mean there is no god. This means that the goat herders that wrote the bible, and the power mad clergy that edited and censored it for their own purposes, were plain wrong, and often simply malicious.Throw that damn book away.It is the biggest impediment to finding god in history. If you want to find the god of TRUTH,how can you expect to find it in a book filled with so many obvious lies,a book that relies on its believers to willingly spread lies to sustain itself? It cannot stand on its own.Value truth above all else in your search for god.To be willfully ignorant,to obsess and lie to try to discredit science, known science,as if being ignorant somehow gets you "favor"with god is sickening.Learn all you can of the world and what we know about it,don't suppress truth to save the biblical god.The REAL god can stand up to any scrutiny. There may be a god.For sure it's nature is NOTHING like that silly holy book describes him.Look for truth,if there is a god, there you will find him.certainly not in a book with a 6,000 year old Earth and talking snakes and clay men.Follow the TRUTHFUL evidence. At he end of the trail lies GOD
